I had a plan which I laid out in a thread a couple of weeks ago. Basically it involves hiking deep into the forest and putting a .45 Taurus judge (loaded with hollow point long Colt ammo) in my mouth and pulling the trigger. I drove out to the spot last week and couldn't get myself to do it. I didn't think I could feel any worse until I drove back home having failed miserably. Part of my problem is the fear of failing. I've read that the highest percentage of failures with this method are with handguns. My interpretation/analysis of this is that the people who failed were using two small of a caliber and were aiming in the wrong place (under the chin, temple, etc.) but I can't be sure. I can't conceive of using a shotgun, so that's off the table. I think people who survive GSWs to the head are statistical anomolies, but I sure would hate to contribute to that statistic. I mean 27,000+ people CTBs with firearms last year. Why does this have to be so difficult. Any comments, advice, or reassurance is welcome.
