I bought a Mossberg 590 tactical the other day as a plan B for nitrogen if i cant get it to work.

Its pretty damn big and im pretty small and ive never shot a gun. im worried about the exact angle and placement of the shotgun and specifically the RECOIL given my weak small body.

I bought heavy magnum coyote , 00 Buckshot, 3" ,"4 DR E.Q." , 1.5 oz, 12 gauge , nickel plated lead shot shells thinking it would be ideal? is that too much or?

Do i really need to go to the range and feel how it shoots beforehand or does it not matter if i put it in my mouth in the woods or something so i can do it sooner?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you guys

00 Buckshot or similar is more than sufficient and shot placement is still very important. NEVER below the chin or so. As for positioning a long gun, usually sitting down and being able to reach the trigger should be enough. In many other threads, those who know about firearms say not to anticipate the recoil, because trying to pull the firearm while anticipating for the supposed recoil will cause it to hit somewhere different, increasing the chances of failing or so. The recoil will always be there, but most likely one would not feel the recoil as one will be gone well before the body can hear the shot or feel the gun recoil once the projectiles (pellets) leave the barrel.

this video show many bullets leaving the barrel of different guns rifles shotguns , in very slow motion

you can clearly see that the bullet is gone out of the barrel and the barrel and gun are perfectly still . so any noticable recoil happens after the bullet leaves the barrel: hence recoil has zero effect on where the bullet hits . it's not recoil that makes you miss your spot it's you a human flinching before the shot : yes that could radically alter the trajectory of the bullet. flinching before or as you pull the trigger. but once the powder explodes nothing matters because the bullet will travel at 1000 fps to 3000 fps which is much faster than any human or action that can be seen by the eye like a gun moving backwards (recoil).

if recoil affected shots then no one could hit anything with a powerful rifle or shotgun or powerful handgun.

people don't realize how fast some bullets travel . some rifle bullets travel a at 3000 fps almost 1 kilometer in 1 second. this is much too fast for the eye to see. even a handgun also at 1100 fps is too fast to see. but you can see the shotgun moving backwards so that 's orders of magnitude slower.

i'll be dead before any recoil happens . if the aim is good and no flinching before pulling the trigger.

How do you avoid flinching? Flinching is just moving where you're aiming right before pulling the trigger?
