This is so random, and I never really thought about it until now, but does anyone else think that registering for health insurance makes you want to die even more 🤣? We all know that in the U.S., healthcare is expensive for people who actually want to live, and health insurance is often tied to your employer, with many states levying a penalty if there is a gap in coverage. Long story short, I quit my job to pursue a self-employment opportunity, and while I think it's the best path forward for me, during the holidays I basically had to explain that I was laid off (did not want to say that I quit because that would've instigated a huge argument), and that led to me being forced to apply for health insurance coverage (could not lie about having health insurance--the insurance issue was actually the reason I had to explain my lack of formal employment otherwise I could have kept everything else a secret). Obviously, the excuse of "I'll just die anyway if the bills are too high" was not accepted at all 🤣. I understand this can sound offensive to people with severe physical illnesses, but it seems so ridiculous to apply for health insurance when I currently don't even want to live in general, and those life-saving treatments that the insurance pays for can often cause life to be much more unbearable so that there are even fewer reasons to stay alive. Everything would be so much better if I was never born, so that I never have to deal with this, or anything else in life.

I was admitted to a hospital last year for a suicide attempt, dealing with all my medical debt. I hate health insurance and how unaffordable it is.
