Question about knives and sharp weapons

Hello.
The question is genuine.
On multiple articles, suicide by knife or similar tools is deemed next to impossible.
Presuming this is true , how come people still manage to kill other people.by stabbing, and the whole history of the world warfare, lets say, before 1200, was defined by swords and spears and other weapons like that, some of them.based on cutting and slashing.
Surely they were deadly?
What am I missing?

first suicide by sharp tools is much difference and im speaking from experience its like when u touch something hot your instinct is to pull back cuz of the pain receptors same thing when you are digging yourself with a knife but when u stab someone u dont feel that pain. and also cuz when someone stabs someone else they go for important parts that bleed out a lot. when someone dies from stabbing they die because they lost too much blood.

So what happens if you overcome the fear? Is the fear factor the reason people say you can't kill yourdelf with a knife ( sword etc.)?
