[POLL] Do you have siblings? What is your relationship with them like?

I have two older brothers and one younger brother. I talk to one of them everyday. He is easy to talk to, as we have similar temperaments/personalities and many similar interests. We are "close" but not close enough for me to reveal my depression and suicidality to him (or just generally to talk about private emotions). I don't think he suspects my suicidality yet.

The other two I don't talk to as much, as we substantially differ in personality and values, and don't have a ton to talk about.

Nonetheless, I am grateful that I have siblings. Usually they are my only contact with the outside world, and as a bonus, it means I don't have to endeavour to "make" friends since I technically already have three of them at any given time.

What about you guys? Do you have siblings? Do you get along well? Do they care about you, and you them?

I have a sister who is 12 years older than me, she was always mean to me, a long time ago, I moved far away from my toxic family

I have 2 half-brothers, one from my moms side and the other from my dad. my mom's son is somewhere begin 30s and my dad's son is like 47 or something. sadly we have no contact, i've tried connecting with my dad's son but he's not been very interested. i have no other family apart from my parents, the others are either dead or act like I dont exist at all

i have 4 siblings and i only talk to 2 of them, 1 of those 2 being a small child lol. i've wished i was an only child almost my entire life.

I have an older sibling who always looked down on me and betrayed me when I complained about the two losers who destroyed me and pretended to be competent parents. This sibling also ended up wiping out in life so it's obvious I was right. We have been estranged for years now.

My brother was 5 years older than myself and taunted and tortured me. Parents did it so he was just following along. He did eventually start to physically abuse me. When I was 14 we worked at the same camp. One day I had enough of it so I picked him up and threw him over my shoulder. I walked out on a couple logs and when I got to the end I tossed him into the lake. We just avoided each other after that.

I learned when I was young that I had to be the bigger person in the family, ironically by the time I was 13 I actually was the bigger person. Working on the family ranch from a young age really worked my core strength. Racing motorcycles are too that strength.

I have 5 siblings: two brothers and three sisters. I am the second youngest. I have a non-existent relationship with one brother, fair relationships with two sisters and my other brother, and a great relationship with one sister.

I have an older brother, and the relationship is definitely non-existent. We speak only at family meetings, and although there's no bad blood, I don't give a fuck about him, and it's very likely mutual.

Their just younger than me for like a minute.

I care for tthem deeply even tho we fight and all.

I have 2 siblings, one older brother and one younger sister. while my relationship with both of them isn't particularly bad, i just feel like we dont do most stuff that siblings do. there is usually limited interaction between us even when we live together. My parents are divorced and i live with them, but right now im living with my dad and my brother with my sister visiting on weekends and holidays, and before that i was living with my mom and sister, with my brother living with my dad for about a year before i went to live with my dad. This is all to say that the lack of interaction for long periods of time has impacted my relationship with my siblings to where we dont really call each other when we're away from each other for specific periods of time. we dont really talk about news, world events, or things in our personal life with each other, and this wouldnt be that big of a problem if i didnt have just one close friend that i talk to. it would be nice to be able to talk to my siblings about things since they could be like friends to me, and it would be easier too since we're close in age, but i dont really know how to do that or if it's even worth it

Two and they're awful. Dumped me when I lost my child and career and became depressed. My child loss wasn't their problem, despite them being uncles. I fucking despise them for that.

One older brother, basically non-existent. Hes a great guy and I look up to him a lot, but I don't really want to talk to him and that''s pretty mutual. Apperently we were close as little kids, but I have no memory of it.

I have an older brother, but our relationship is an extremely turbulent thing. I could go on about how our interactions with each other are either "friendly and familial" or "hostile", but I think the following is a good example:

For context, I'm in college and hope to go into medical school. At the time, I failed two classes in one semester, which only worsened my depression. This caused me to not leave my bed for several weeks unless it was to use the nearby restroom. I seldom ate or drank anything. My brother blew up at me because I didn't want to play video games with him (they're not really my thing, so I often avoid playing them with him, which is a point of contention for us). He called me a lazy piece of shit that's lower than scum, and I, in an already mentally vulnerable place, snapped and told him that I wanted to CTB anyways so his opinion didn't matter to me

His reaction was to punch my door, throw my things around, get up in my face (which got saliva in my face) and shout "You're a fucking quitter!". He then went on to blame me for his anger and how I don't care about anything. Shortly after, he cried, hugged me, and told me he didn't want me to die and that he got angry at me because he loved me

Have mutiple siblings. One that lives with me still with parents and the other has moved out. I don't really care for the one that has left really. I only care for the sister that still stays with me cus of how she is the most similar to me in the family with both of us having similar levels of autism. She can be fun to be around. I do love her tho sometimes can hate her for times such as helping family prevent suicide attempts.

one younger brother who i am very close with. we dont live in the same town anymore but we text often. it was everyday before my mental health got so bad.

i've also got three older step sisters. i am not close with any of them but it's not really a bad relationship.
