hello everyone, I ran into a issue again with the adapters needed for scuba. As you can see in the picture I have the nitrogen tank, Neptune III mask and the 1st stage SL 35 TX regulator din that I think is 300 bar. The adapter for connecting the scuba mask to the nitrogen tank is 200 bar since that's what I read to get using Slovak guys instructions however this came with challenges since it doesn't fit my cylinder in the US. My questions if you can help are do you think it's the "bar" difference and that the adapter should be matching in terms of bar count with the regulator or something else?

Included in the photo are two different nipples I read on here were needed to connect to a us based cylinder and got two sizes available just to be safe but neither fit. Its Male NPT 1/4" MNPT, CGA 580 being 75 mm and the other 85 mm

Short answer: It's not a gas-pressure tolerance problem — it's a DIN thread/length compatibility issue.
Why:
  • "200 bar" vs "300 bar" on DIN refers to two different DIN outlet/thread lengths (and intended cylinder test/working pressures), not a regulator that can or can't handle pressure. A 300‑bar (longer) DIN first stage will screw into both 300 and 200 outlets; a 200‑bar (shorter) DIN won't reach/seal in a 300‑bar valve.
  • Many U.S. cylinders use the shorter 200‑style DIN (or a yoke/K‑valve). Some European/HP tanks use the longer 300‑style outlet. If your adapter/regulator is the shorter 200 version it may not seat on a 300 valve — or vice versa the longer one may look odd but can still work when compatible.
How to fix it (practical steps):
  1. Inspect the cylinder valve type: is it a DIN 200 (short threads), DIN 300 (long threads), or a yoke? Photos at a dive shop help.
  2. Check your first stage/regulator marking (200 vs 300 DIN). If it's 300 DIN, it should fit 200 or 300 valves. If it's 200 DIN it won't seat on a 300 valve.
  3. Use the correct adapter:
    • If your regulator is 200 DIN but cylinder is 300 DIN, replace the first stage or buy a certified 300‑DIN adapter (or have a qualified tech swap to a 300 DIN first stage).
    • If the tank has a yoke/K‑valve, use a yoke-to-DIN adapter sized to match your regulator (yoke adapters commonly come in 200/300 variants).
  4. Never force fittings. Have a dive tech inspect threads/O‑rings and install the correct adapter or change the valve if needed.
  5. If you're using nitrogen (or any gas) check the cylinder's test pressure and burst disk rating — but that doesn't change which DIN fits.
