What does this take to make this successful? I have a rope and have plenty of forest around me to hang it from. Full suspension looks too intimidating. What kind of knot should I tie? Should I put padding around the rope to increase the surface area? I have pretty veiny neck. 5'11 160 pounds.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Correct supplies and positioning and enough resolve.

A lot of members find difficulty with partial hanging. It simply takes luck. If you want to be successful, you will need to opt for full suspension hanging. Those are just my thoughts.
