I know this might be a rather odd question, but I'm curious as to whether a Pacemaker (not a defibrillator device, simply a pacing device) can interfere with CTB via N.

Based on some minimal research I've done (see attached file), a PM shouldn't interfere since it sounds like the heart would be unresponsive to its signals eventually, and apparently euthanasia protocols typically do not require its removal prior to administration of N or other euthanasia medicines.

Any thoughts are appreciated

I am not a healthcare professional, here is my answer. N stops breathing. There is no point in your heart beating if there is no oxygen in the blood. When oxygen saturation is zero, the heart can be operated with a pacemaker until myocardial death, but the result is unchanged. Vegetable 5 minutes after anoxia. N poisoning can be managed with only mechanical ventilation if there are no serious haemodynamic effects. Maybe with just an ambu and room air too. Michael Jackson's doctor might have saved him with an ambu if he hadn't left him alone in the room.

Hello Apa.

Long time since we talked. Sounds like things aren't going so well for you.

Anyways, to answer your question, without doing research, I think it is risky.

You don't want your body to be fried by the pacemaker in your last few moments of life.

That's what happened to my father, but he had heart issues which is why he was dying in the first place.

He was in hospice. He was having an episode when his heart was acting up. We gave him Ativan and morphine to calm him. He went to sleep or died. We didn't hear anything from him all night. Went to go wake him up in the morning, but he was dead.

So yeah, the drugs sort of gave him a peaceful transition. I'm sure N is probably more powerful than those two.

Sorry I cannot answer your question with certainty.

Anyways, you know how I feel about you ctb'ing (Against it).

Good luck with whatever decision you plan to make. Later.

Thank you for your reply - I'm so glad you reached out to me!! I was robbed several months ago and they took my phone and laptop, so I lost access to my old discord. If you want to catch up please initiate a PM with me (it won't let me view your profile) so that I can share my new discord username with you <3

Also to clarify, I am not planning or intending to CTB soon. I asked this question because it has been on my mind for a while and figured I'd ask others about their thoughts about this since, to my knowledge, it hasn't been discussed.

Hope to hear from you soon!

I'm sorry to hear that you were robbed. When it rains it pours 😦.

I will PM you my Discord.

Yes, being fried by pacemaker. Last time we saw my father alive, he was being constantly shocked by his pacemaker.

I felt so bad for him. I pulled my brother aside, and told him that if he survives past tonight, then we should get his pacemaker deactivated so he can have a peaceful transition.

My mother eventually gave him that previously mentioned cocktail. He then settled down, and that was it.

After he died, my mother and I discussed getting his pacemaker data to see the activity that night, but we dropped it because it would make no difference in the situation.

Wow, constantly shocked by his PM? I'm thinking he must have had an implantable defibrillator, which some PMs have (but not mine, since my heart issues involve a very slow pulse and disruption of communication between top and bottom parts of the heart). So at least I don't need to worry about shocks, thankfully

I have the same question about SN. Will a cardiac pacemaker interfere with CTB via SN?
thanks.
