Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Who else wonders about why we exist. We exist only for less a percent of a percent of a percent (massive understatement still) of our universe's existence what do y'all make of this idea? That our existence has no greater meaning, that after eternity no one will remember anything, and the universe might as well not exist since there will be no more spectators to observe it anymore. Yet we all still stress about everything in our own irrational human way that matters to all of us. What do you make of it?

I don't think it's all that useful to think about. If everything is meaningless then the meaninglessness is also meaningless, so I might as well focus on outcomes that I can actually observe and experience.

I disagree partly.

I do understand how its pointless for us to worry about what will happen after we depart, but it's not pointless for use to ponder over it. It personally allows me to gain perspective in my own life, and understand what I need to focus on to make this existence as meaningful to me as possible.

I think its useful for everyone to look elsewhere in time wherever it may, and use that information to better the now; moreover I just enjoy the topic as a whole to find meaning in our meaningless, godless, pointless existence. It fascinates me, and fulfills my instance of existence.

To each their own of course. I'm almost jealous. I guess I just find the bigger existential questions kinda circular if you know what I mean.

It makes sense to me- that as beings shaped by natural selection/ evolution and the huge competetiveness to survive- that we developed consciousness and a heightened sense of self. It obviously gave us an edge over other animals.

The unfortunate side effect I suppose is this accompanying feeling of hopelessness- in a way. Seeing as we are mortal. Seeing as we don't actually understand everything. In that context, myth and religion may have grown to bridge the gaps.

As for why we exist though- I tend to think it's simply because our parents- for whatever reason- decided to have children. I'm not sure human existence is anymore profound than the birth of other animals or bacteria replicating itself. All are driven by the natural drive to perpetuate the species.

I'm not convinced there is anymore to it than that. Just a whole long series of things happening over the course of billions of years, that has developed into this.
