Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

i had a meeting with my psychiatrist two days ago. she told me there's limits on what support they can give me (if you've dealt with adult mental health services in the UK you'll know that's an understatement). it took an hour of me talking about how suicidal i am for her to finally decide to talk to their crisis team. it's never serious enough for them when i'm the only person at risk.
two people from the crisis team came round yesterday, and two came today. i didn't expect anything different to 'support' i've received in the past, so i wasn't surprised with how it went. they weren't taking me seriously, they were treating me like i'm unable to make coherent decisions because i'm depressed. in both meetings, their only wisdom was 'you're only suicidal because you have depression, when that goes away you won't feel this way anymore' but didn't elaborate on their actual plan to treat it.
i've tried my hardest to engage with therapies and medications since i was a kid but it doesn't do anything. nobody expects me to actually kill myself. they're going to be very surprised soon

I feel you as I've had very similar experiences, though it seems that UK mental health services are particularly inept. I guess no one has an answer for depression, it would seem. I'm sorry you're going through this. Hopefully you find your peace soon, until then hang in there.

When I tell anyone forget any specialists, they simply tell me to brush it off as it was upto me. Society doesn't take depression and related ailments seriously. So I turned to meditation after watching youtube help videos. It did help a little but the torture of life never stopped..

I once had the crisis home treatment team round and they knew I was suicidal. one of the staff was very dismissive... it was basically along the lines of ' we cant do anything to help you ,you wont attempt just deal with it'.
I attempted a week later and they sent me out the same fucking guy who said it. I thought fuck you, who are you to tell me what I will and wont do. Kept his mouth shut that time though.

The majority of interactions with mental health team have been satisfactory but havent used their services for a few years. I dont have therapy these days, its not going to help me in any way. I'm think I'm way past that now.
