Music literally making me want to live. Especially the topic of audio/sound in general.

I have been always interested in music since childhood. I spend most of my time in headphones and was really upset when they broke. Maybe I was trying to distract myself from terrible school time by listening to music much, idk.

I didn't have any preferences in genres, and don't have any now, actually. Can listen to almost anything. Every genre has it's own bangers.

This year I really got into topic of sound, audio and psychoacoustics, got proper sound gear (already changed several pairs of IEMs and got a dac+amp), began to develop some form of music taste. Even try to write my own, but nothing really came of it, maybe, because I didn't put enough effort?

It's really interesting that such small thing makes you stay a little longer in this cruel world.

I wouldn't say it makes me want to live but it definitely helps to keep me alive.

Any bangers you'd recommend in the metal/rock/indie or similar genres?

Actually, feel the same.

I rediscovered as daylight dies by killswitch engage. "This Fire" slaps actually. I really got into metalcore/nu/alt nowadays.

Same here, I listen to it everyday, go to shows/gig and absolutely love it. It definitely is one of the main constituents that keeps me in this world.
Music recommendation for a small but really good metalcore/hardcore band:

Yeah, music is also really important to me. I remember that one day I was sitting in my bed and trying to think reasons to stay alive, Like i had about 3 reasons and one of them was music. It also really helped me when I was extremely lonely, I remember when we had breaks between classes all the other people were talking or playing something with their friends and there was me, sitting alone, eating and listening to music. Tbh it wasnt so bad.

Music - both live music, clubbing and also recorded music - is the main reason I'm still here. I know I won't be alive for a very long time, but know music is my one truth in this world while that ending comes. I am hoping to pick up an instrument I used to play in the new year, and I'm giddy at the thought of seeing at least one show a month. I plan to redirect a lot of energy that might otherwise be friends and dating into creativity like music. It gives me the joy human interaction never will <3

I was thinking about this the other day! I feel so apathetic about everything in my life, and the world in general, but music is the only thing that can kind of 'energize' me. I can put on a playlist and just sit there for hours, entertained, or perhaps dance along. It's great!

I sleep with music and spend every last moment listening to some. Helps drain out the silence.
