I'm 29 but I agree, sometimes SS feels like a teen hangout zone

I thought being "young" should be a reason to live through pain and see "better" days. That the older people will support and train me because i'm the "future." Oh.. Expectations vs reality. Age isnt experienced the same. Many old people are immature . I was suicidal when i was around 12 years of age.

I see some "young" people wear stress on their faces, then i see some are lucky enough for it not to show.

I get told "it'll get better, you have time. You're young " It's annoying being labeled as "young" being told "i wish i was young as you. Young people are _____!"

I always thought older people would be supportive of younger generations, and I think Gen Z actually will be supportive of Gen Alpha. But the war between Boomers and Millennials disgusts me. Some of the things I've heard come out of boomers mouths... They judge every single last one of us and believe we are all lazy and stupid. The worst time was overhearing my uncle talking with other Boomers about how he likes to spend his retirement scamming young folk's money.

I'm often heartbroken to read people's stories here, especially when they're around my kids' ages. I have scars and callouses from wounds which are old to me, but which are still fresh and raw and bleeding for them. I agree, most people here are younger.
