Has there been anything that you have read or been told that gave you a sense of understanding yourself in a clearer way ?

For me it was late in life when I really started to understand my mind body dislocation , and the whole human / animal friction ( via Ernest Beckers 'Denial of Death ') ... a glimpse of all the crazy ways 'civilized' people clothe their / our 'drives' to fit into the rules and systems .

It was such a simple idea , but I had been in 'denial' about it I guess.

I made this thread because I just looked up Gestalt ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gestalt_psychology )... one of my first 'deep conversation' friends from my youth was doing a Gestalt group therapy thing and it was the first I heard of the therapy world. 35 years ago now ....
but those conversations did open the door for getting over myself years later and seeking therapy .

Anything that you learned , that seems obvious , but might be new to others ?
