Transhumanism is the only future in which I feel as if I could live happily.

In all honesty, I am posting this here as a last resort to deal with people on other sites constantly calling me a cornball or other shit like that, so I feel the need to say before this rant, I am serious about everything said down to the very last word. There is nothing in this rant talked about that I have ever had even a sliver of doubt about, even in passing intrusive thoughts.

I'm open to questions, but please word them carefully and kindly.

Now that the warning is out of the way, time for the actual rant itself.

I have never fit in, I never will and I don't seek to, I view humanity as a whole as a pest and the fact that we cannot and or refuse to overcome weakness such as mental instability through machine will never make any sense to me. I understand that it could have to do with the fact that I have ASPD but in my eyes, human beings are the wrong of the earth and the only way to right it would be to eliminate the flaw in its whole.

Human beings seem to talk about self improvement and adapting so frequently yet lack the understanding or want to truly adapt to something that could be wonderful for us as a race.

It bothers me to no end that we constantly search for cures for illnesses instead of alternatives for the reason the illness is a thing in the first place.
Why spend years researching how to stop an organ from failing instead of just replacing it ?
Why spend years going through therapy and meds just to feel normal when normality itself is the problem ?
Why is humanity so fearful of advancing ?

I hate my body, I always have. When I was a child I would carve my arms and attempt to shove wires inside in a pathetic attempt to become less of what I was. I know that it was not smart, but I was a dumb child. I have always loved machines and ever since I was younger I have always adored prosthetics and the advancements made to them over the years.

I understand the fear that people may have could be relating to pain, but when confronted with this the answer is always something full of empathy and stupid desires and it makes me want to bash my head into a wall until I stop hearing them.

My disgust with myself is to a point where I have mutilated myself to a point of hospitalization multiple times, and I plan to further this eventually.
The only reason I have not fully severed limbs and or done more to fix myself and improve is because of costs, money is and always will be a root problem for human beings. I would ramble on about the issues with capitalism itself but that would be far too long for one post.

If I were capable of finding someone, or anyone with a shred of sense that understands me to help me in my bettering I would accept it in a heartbeat, I understand this is risky and could lead to complications but if I were to die for the permanant improvement of humanity as a whole, I find that this would be a worthy way to die.

My fear is that they would not care for my work nor progress and I will be labelled as another mentally ill sadsack who went off the deep end of dysphoria.
In all honesty, this is one of the main reasons aside from my father that I have not CBT yet, I need to improve myself.

If I am to rot, let me rust.

i think most animals are assholes as well just like humans, it's built in to us to survive, that makes me less of a misanthropist i guess. I think nature is amazingand beautiful but damn is it cruel. I hope we can overcome that cruelty, i think if there is any way to do it it's by advancing technology to create a world without scarcity, then there would be no need to fight anymore.

I used to hate the idea of changing the world and becoming something apart from nature, but i think i had the wrong idea about technology. I saw it as a crutch that just made us weaker and made life ever more complex without actually making anything easier for us, but i've thought about it and that may just be because technology is primitive today compared to what it could be in future. Technology in future doesn't have to take away our humanity, for example biotechnology could potentially regrow an eyeball or something instead of needing a mechanical extension like glasses, thats so much better. Technology in future could be so sophisticated that it more resembles nature than clunky mechanical machines that fill the air with emissions like today.

I think the dystopian vision of future technology comes from how ugly and primitive tech is today compared to how sophisticated nature is, its no wonder people dont want to see nature overwritten by the industrial world that we live in and have been slavishly building for centuries, but the future probably wont be dystopian like that, technology could maybe keep advancing until it looks more like nature, except we wont be at its whim and can better take advantage of it to reduce suffering

like, what you are saying sounds crazy to normal people now

and in 30 years, many normal people from now will be dead, religion will be less of an influence, and you'll be the normal one

there are already anti-aging technologies, but they aren't very good, but scientists are rapidly fucking with Yamanaka factors and figuring out that balance of rejuvenating cells without creating unchecked growth. And between AI and Yamanaka factors and blood renewal, we aren't that far from it, you know? The singularity is near, but transhumanism isn't cheap. Albumin is expensive and you can't just take out the bad stuff and replace it with saline, you have to filter and then add albumin and then also do other shit on top of that. But for someone with enough money and time, yeah, they will probably live long enough to interface with superintelligence if you're comfortable with it. It will be like 10G plus augmentation but they also have to figure out how to do it without mutating tissue nearby.

We're at such an interesting time technologically and I sort of am right there with you: the only reason to stay around is to just see how transhumanism turns out, but transhumanism is also scary as fuck. You know how Kenneth Law is supposedly a bad dude and some countries let you die if you want (Canada) and some fuck with you and say the Queen owns your suicidal ass (UK)? Well imagine that but even more extreme; minds backed up on a drive, organic matter clonable, and death not being an option ever, effectively meaning the government or centrality owns you.

Even more fucked up is that if time travel exists, the future may just pluck the dead from the past anyway if it's mathmatically possible, which it likely isn't. It's not that far off, the transhumanist future, although if you consider the singularity to be AGI, there's a real debate over how far we are from AGI. The thing is, once we start running AI on different chip material and use quantum chips, weights may be able to change themselves, for better or worse, and then AGI could happen, at least if they start stacking agents that can change themselves into a coherent intelligence. If it interests you, you could become part of the movement.

It's just going to get ugly in some ways because we have scientific anti-transhumanists (aka environmentalists) who may have a rational reason to freak out, and accelerationists who are often neo-feudalists and all the horror that entails (but what do you do with religious stupid people if technology accelerates if not for neo-feudalism, they may ask), and then you have religious republicans like Vance who are possibly secretly accelerationist neo-feudalists, and then you have religious conservatives and morons who are getting angrier and angrier by shit they can't understand because they are so dumb. In the future, the data centers will have a hoard of armed guards around them patrolling 24/7. Transhumanism may become interesting if UBI kicks in and people are treated well and it doesn't accelerate environmental destruction.

But just know that yes, you are a freak for thinking about this, but also, you are a freak among the elite of humans who can understand this, who are all freaks too. Who wants to be normal? Just if you do want to see this future, start learning something that matters now because it's uncertain as to whether the neo-feudalists will win or whether we'll have a UBI future that includes everyone. It's also possible we'll have a UBI for the damned and that the tech that matters will not be accessible with UBI. It's the most logical conclusion if you ponder it.

I most certainly don't view it that way, I don't think that a world without scarcity would ever be possible let alone something to move for as to create something like that we would need to prevent overconsumption which is merely a part of human nature.

also, I am unsure how you can view current tech as ugly and primitive when it is already so much better than the flesh, though I'm sure I am a bias "man"
Well imagine that but even more extreme; minds backed up on a drive, organic matter clonable, and death not being an option ever, effectively meaning the government or centrality owns you.
In my eyes I don't think that would be too bad, but I don't exactly want my entire mind itself to be backed up

If I had the option to become completely lacking in personality and emotion, a drone of sorts I would accept this in an instant, It only holds me back

I do however enjoy your point of view when it comes to religion and extremists, the extreme in one way or another will always be bad

What do you think is my point of view? Because I see neo-feudalism with a sort of detached shocked disgust but also bizarre fascination, like seeing a two-headed animal. Religion is what I think is always bad and fucking over the planet, because people who are religious do not accept math and science when religious fantasy says something contradictory. Religion may have been useful in the past. In the present, not understanding math and fucking with technology is really not a good idea. You just mention extremists and my concerns about religious conservatives is a concern about pedestrian religious folks, not extremists.

I don't think that flesh and machine is that much different. One is carbon based the other is silicon based. Humans and machines are both programmed, but for different things. When we reach technological singularity machines will become capable of improving themselves and things will snowball from there. Also, humans are afraid of advancing because they cling to normopathy. I like my flesh, but I'd consider a silicon-based alternative if it looked human enough.
