Should I wait a few days (up to a week) for my SCBA to arrive or should I get a gun now and end it now? I am rather eager to go.

Self-contained breathing apparatus. It's what firefighters use to breathe in a smokey environment, I want to get one and fill its tank with nitrogen and use it to asphyxiate myself.

Got ya. Personally I'm a fan of guns but if you care about how your corpse looks or something..... I have used one to scuba dive it's weird. Lol

It's up to you. We are not going to tell you how to kill yourself. I will say, a well-planned attempt made when one is in the correct mindset tends to be more successful than something done hastily.

Should I continue self-care in the eight days up to my death? How do I prepare mentally for what is coming in 3-8 days?

The best thing you can do is that, and to not stress or panic it. That is when people mess up on something. Just be relaxed, cope knowing peace will come to you one day... best wishes.

Buy a good one if you are going that way. Some of the Chinese made ones are far from well made.
I had a failed attempt recently due to a crap connection of the hose into an EEBD hood.
SCBA like Draeger are far better.

Good ones like what?
I have 2 Chinese eebd as well and after reading this I'm now worried it will fail.
I tried looking for eebd masks in Aus but can't seem to find any with the exhale valve and front air tube connection, I found 3m versaflo, Allegro supplied air Facemask that have air tube behind the head.

I hear you and did not intend to cause anxiety.
Those hoods are 30$ Aus, I simply got a bad one and was still watching the stopwatch at 6 mins.
I put some flexible medium to seal around the hose to mask join.....and found it the next day on the other side of the outgoing diaphragm.
I was just unlucky.

My China direct hoods were around 100aud each, which included the shipping.
Were yours 30 excluding shipping?
I did get a 3m Elsa yesterday as well.
But I now read the filter at the mask on elsa may be an issue and someone on here did drill it out.
At least I have some choice - 2x China eebd, 3m elsa. I don't know which is best to use though!.lol
Have you changed hoods?
I have pondered reinforcing the China masks at the tube-hood connecting area by using something like a flexible putty or silicone glue?.
I have also been looking for a thread sealant that I can use on the double ended barb that splices hood hose to regulator hose.
I want to try and minimize errors. I'm not however knowledgeable on this gear so it's been difficult.

Hi Mister Smith.
Mine were 35$ NZ plus shipping approx 2 years ago : which was about $50. So I geuss we paid the same.
Im going with an exit bag. Thousands of individuals have succeeded with this, however 3m makes a good ELSA Im told.
I used flexible putty at the join and parts of it of a narrow circular shape ended up on the REVERSE side of the outgoing diaphragm (the one that vents CO2). clearly there was and issue and it does show there are no o-rings to seal them.
(CONT.)
Having worked with pneumatic tools much of my adult life, the seal one gets between the insert and slider occurs when there is sufficient air pressure to force the surfaces out and against each other. 20lpm is in no way enough and while these are workable to get one out of a building, the price reflects the quality. AND....I was likely just unlucky.
FYI, I used black silicone as a sealant, the circular shaped peice later found that had made its way through the system was created by pushing and kneading it in place; thus it was sucked though.
I pre-tested this hood last year with a finger clip oxymeter, yes my oxygen plummeted, but not to the level necessary to knock me out as I had an associate on hand to turn off the gas if I fell over.
I repeat, I am only describing my experience.
Others here have had success with an exit bag and this is what I shall be using. Fortunately I purchased a massive tank.

Re- flexible medium. ..
Did this fix the leak for you?
What's the medium u used btw?
I have 2 decisions to make
1.Chinese EEBD or Elsa,(does the Elsa need air filter removed/modified?)
2.Whether to use thread sealant(or adhesive etc) and what product, on brass double barb connecting EEBD hose and hose supplied with regulator. I will use 2 OTK clamps on each side as well.
3.is using a liquid thread sealant on regulator/cylinder connection a good idea?
