Do you have a favorite lake or ocean? Do you like any aquatic activities?

The deepest lake in the world is Lake Baikal (especially if one considers the accumulated sludge in the bottom to be part of the depth of the lake). Lake Baikal was caused a rift where the Asian continent started splitting apart. Crater lakes are the second deepest type of lake, while glacial lakes come in third. (In general).
Glacial lakes also tend to have very steep sides, and be long and narrow (although there are round ones as well, typically higher in the mountains. If the glacier is still around, they tend to have interesting watercolors due to fine particulates suspended in the water.

I looked up Lake Baikal, it's really beautiful!
My favourite lakes are ones that are surrounded by huge mountains like they're cutting into the landscape (usually glacial lakes). Though I also really love bodies of water with bioluminescent plankton.

I can't swim but for aquatic activites....I like worldbuilding and imagining stories with lakes and water if that counts

I nearly drowned in a boating/skiing accident in college. The closest I get to water now is a lawnchair on the bank. Or the shower.

I don't have a special preference for where I like to swim; swimming in the sea is so nice. When I was a kid I also liked snorkeling. Unfortunately, I don't do such activities any more.

Lake Baikal and the surrounding nature is so beautiful. It's worth to travel there incl. a trip with the Trans-Siberian Railway.

I love all things water related. Haven't seen enough to have a favourite really. I'd definitely like to see more rivers and waterfalls before I die.

I've thought about it. I definitely want to see it properly. We went past it once very quickly on a coach trip. So beautiful but yes- deadly. Pretty terrifying way to go I think though. Not much fun for whoever has to fish you out either.
