I wonder what happens as they both age if they live together. Does the chic/chicken eventually become prey? There ate some great instances of unusual animal pairings but they're unusual for a reason. It's quite facinating and i wonder what the intricacies and dynamics that influence the outcome are. People that get to study that stuff are so very lucky. I wish I'd have thought to guide my career path down that route in my youth.

My cat would go crazy for tiny birds. I tried buying some frozen chics (I know it sounds gruesome but they're used to feed reptiles and are surplus from chicken farms. I wasn't crazy about it tbh but was trying to meet my cats needs) but she was pretty much uninterested. I can't say I was disappointed. She needs to hunt for mental stimulation and its hard to meet those needs with toys alone. I've found moths and crickets to be a good compromise. They enter the home of their own volition so it's nature doing its thing.

Anyway, great vid. Thanks for sharing. Been a bit 'trolly' round here of late so it's nice to have a little lightness amidst the dark.

Yeah, that was one of the odd couplings I had in mind. I think, in this instance, it's born out of the mothers need to mother. She lost her kittens if I remember correctly.

There's a few crazy pairings though. Bears and tigers. Tigers and lambs. All sorts. It's really fascinating.
