Kind of lost all my hope now...

I made a comment on a post about how AI has really contributed to me wanting to ctb, but I don't know how in the span of a few hours it worsened so bad.

Just look at the Runway AI channel. Yes, the super realistic cartoony animations were pretty easy to tell apart from real stuff, but the lonely flame and retrieval animations? The latter has some weird lines, but the former I can barely tell until I look closely. Its progressed so much from last month, last year, that in the few years I would have at college to do, ai might as well be foolproof.

So many times on Pinterest I'll be scrolling through. See cool art, click on the persons profile, and boom- its an ai profile.

Maybe if I wasn't an animator, maybe I could've worked in vfx? Why even bother. "The computer can do that by itself!!" People will say its supposed be a tool, not to replace humans, but its clearly not.

I'm sick of it. I'd do anything to just be an animator, from the 30s to 10s, all done by an actual human. Nothing matters about it. Even if I don't work in art and make my own things, who would care. People can feed it into some ai model and make something they prefer. All my creative stories have already been written somewhere or will be inevitably stolen.

I'm done. No other job will make me happy. I dont want to slave away all day just to buy expensive art materials that mean nothing.

I think I might just ctb tonight. End of the month at the latest. I want to escape.

I do think actual art will always have merit to people. Expressions of humanity will always mean more to me than AI slop

Unfortunately, a lot of creative jobs are going to disappear. That's just the reality. I've already discussed this particular topic on another forum. It's sad, really.
