Jumping tonight

When everyone is asleep tonight I am going to attempt a drive down to the beach and jump off the bridge late around midnight when no one is around. The hospital has me I a waitlist for a bed in the mental health ward and I just want don't want to go, my medication is just not working anymore.

The mental health system in Brisbane, well Australia is so broken.

Really sorry to hear of your situation. I hope you can find peace if you decide to go through with it, AND even if you don't, I hope you can find a way to get help that will work for you and get peace that way, too. Even if you can't go through with it, there's no shame in it. You just live to die (or live some more) another day and commiserate with us for a while longer. At least think everything through one last time and make sure that's what you want and make sure the height is enough to do the job should you ultimately decide you've had enough. Best to you no matter what you decide.

I don't watch tv, no the world is not perfect but I have been dealt a a lot in my life and I am mentally and emotionally exhausted and no life left in me. Every person's situation is different but being understanding and accepting of it makes the difference.

That was a generalization. I should have been clear. And I feel you. It can be hard to get help these days. I'm in the same boat. I feel you.

I couldn't do it, my husband watched me take my meds and I couldn't discard the mitazapine which puts me to sleep so quickly and they in a webster pack.

Calling you a liar is absolutely not what mental health professionals are supposed to do especially when the patient is really suicidal and deeply hurt. They're too zealous and I expect that what would be waiting for you once you admit your ideation is inhumane, predatory and traumatic things that should be seen as abuse. I wish I could take you out of that place

Can you say what bridge it is you're thinking of jumping? Do you know the height?

It's not a lethal height, just letting you know. LD50 says 48 feet (lethal dose 50%) and that bridge is only something like ~40 ft.

If the pictures are up to date, the bridge crosses water - and high tide would imply the water is at it's highest.

So you'd be jumping into the water basically? I assume the plan would be to die from drowning, not actually the height?

It would be to drown in the water as I would be drunk and high on overdose.

It's possible that your body unconsciously or desparately swim to the bank. Does the "helium tank" mean inert gas method, or that you're going to jump with the weight? Drowning is regarded as a painful method. While I really understand your situation, please ask yourself if you are sure or not?

Tbf the bridge is about 2 miles long - I'm not a good swimmer, so I can't say whether or not one would be able to swim (hypothetically) 50% of the bridge length? (1 mile - especially under the influence)

That's not factoring any riptides or whirlpools pulling you into the bridge structure/under the water.
