1) How high should be of a building, in order to guarantee 100% painless, instant death?

2) To bravely just jump without any hesitation, I've read some comments here that suggested i) drink alcohol before, & ii) just instantly immediately jump, without even looking down below

What do you all think? Any other suggestions/advices perhaps? thx

1. General recommendation is 150ft for solid ground, 250ft for water. I believe this is around 90% successful, though may be higher. Obviously the higher you go, the more lethal it will be. I would hesitate to say anything is 100% lethal, be aware that failure may lead to catastrophic consequences.

2. SI is a bitch. While alcohols and drugs may lower inhibitions, they will also make it harder to control yourself. There's no telling what could go wrong if you aren't in a proper state of mind (or if you'll even attempt). Not looking down is ideal, but SI may force you to stop before you even try. If you are going to try jumping, you have to be prepared to be stopped or intervened if you hesitate. And we know what that will lead to.

I haven't looked into jump before, out of curiosity, is the 150ft for standard impact fatality? (instead of like landing in a specific way)

I've seen people do backflips and land on their neck and it be fatal - I guess it would mean you didn't have to worry so much about actually landing on your head

1) afaik min. 10 storey building (30m?) and solid ground downstairs (e.g. concrete, no parking cars, no trees/lawn)

2) i) It's not that easy. You'd have to be very drunk in order not to realize any danger any more.
ii) Well, people who jump into water, sometimes they do some artistic stuff before they jump. But this needs years of training and experience imo.

Edit: If jumping was such an easy method, I would have jumped off my balcony years ago when I was at a very low point in my life.

Yes. Control over jumping is difficult, if you aren't trained in positioning you probably won't succeed in correcting it.

With jumping there's never 100% guarantee since there are people falling off the planes or experiencing critical parachute failures and surviving it. Those cases are very rare, true, but still there's a chance for you being extremely unlucky and ending up as a pot plant. On the other side of the spectrum are people who literally just fell off the couch or slipped on proverbial banana peel and broke their neck or split their skull. To sum up - the higher you go the lower chances ow survival are but 100% is never guaranteed with this method.

As for SI - that one is real PITA, especially for those who are afraid of heights. Personally, i think i'd never be able to crawl close enough to the "unprotected" edge of a building or other high place. Standing on the balcony is ok but standing on the other side of the balcony's barrier.... not really achievable. And i don't see that any amount of alcohol could change that. Some drugs maybe but i do not have relevant experience in this field.

It's funny how a hight looks high until you consider jumping form it. Then you're fearful of being a pile of broken bones , and still alive.
