I've finally got around to ordering SN. Took my chances even if I'm still not entirely sure if it is legal in my country and won't be held by customs. In the event of getting questioned about why I purchased it, I was thinking I could say that I want to try making my own biltong (I saw another user mentioned this). Would this be a credible excuse/ reason to give?

That would be credible, but do they use it in biltong? Maybe on the safe side say american style beef jerky

It's such a small amount I don't think you have to worry. There are more important things customs are looking out for, good luck.

Thanks for your response. I am from a very small country. The SN arrived last week and I received a letter on Friday saying I need to come collect it. I am going to go later this week. I am planning to watch some videos about how to make biltong/beef jerky just in case before I go lol.

I wish you the best. I had to google biltong. I don't know how credible an excuse it would be …. maybe it depends on what country you live in ?

Google "uses of s nitrite" and pick one that fits your personality the best and read one or two articles about it (ex: art student)
