Help Is SN supposed to be this hard in packaging?

So SN just arrived, and I can't help but notice the packaging is as hard as a rock. I don't want to open it yet, so just wanted to check here if it's normal. Was it like this for you?

mine's the same -- just the way it's packaged, i think. i've read on here that once the seal is broken, it becomes more salt-like than brick-like. :)

It will dissolve easily in water! Don't worry!

Yep mine was rock hard too. It's supposed to loosen when the seal is broken, but I'm not opening mine until the day I need to use it.
