At night flashlight can be really annoying... During the day there is a higher chance somebody might be in the forest. I'm talking about a small forested area not far away from a village, nobody really walks through the forest, however I know that some people still work there. Is hanging myself there during daylight safe then, or should I wait for dark? Also - If I climb in the tree canopy, how fast could somebody get help if I'm too high up?

I wouldn't take that risk. At daylight there are probably many people coming by

At Night flashlights will defiantly give you away. I'd say dusk. But dusk would have people in transit out of the woods also.

So in the end daylight might be worth the risk? I guess it depends on the specific area, I've never seen anyone there, though it is clearly still used for practical purposes.

My only experience is that people ride only on the dirt roads nearby the small forested area in the middle of fields, however the forest isn't particulary attractive and sometimes even hard to walk through. Doesn't that decrease the overall risk?
