Is it safe to browse this site without VPN? Or is it necessary?

You can't register from a vpn or tor, so, remember: You're as private as the IP you used to register

It depends on the country. In Germany it's permitted to give written instructions for CTB in a book or so, as long as no one is personal encouraged by the writer. I am really surprised, that they not installed a law against it in the meantime, but banning books by law is not so easy here after what happened with books in the Third Reich.

However, in the meantime I am using the free Hide Me VPN. It's easy, fast enough and I don't need hundreds of locations.

The Pfandleiher, the famous German Silk Road top drug dealer, who has now a small Youtube channel and is telling stories about the Darknet, he says, he used a VPN at that time also to get the games cheap on Steam with Argentina server.

I don't think it's necessary per se. I mean i'm sure it's not illegal to browse sites likes this in the country you're from, but incase you chose to ctb they might check your history and I highly doubt the authorities will go to the length of checking your internet service providers if you delete your history. So yeah, i'd say it's pretty safe even though I still use a VPN.

So by using burn button in DuckFuckGo there will be no traces of SS. What a relief.

Well i guess it depends on the nature and type of activity you refer to!. Is talking about suicide illegal?. What charges would the ' thought police ' bring ?.The Samaritans in UK is focused toward people contemplating suicidal. Many of the conversations i read here probably reflect some of the calls received on the help line.

I dunno… probably should but I don't
I figure the damage is already done for me now though anyway seeing as I've been on this site for a year and a half without using one
But I just rationalize every risky or stupid decision I make these days by telling myself that nothing I do matters because I'll be dead soon anyway

I thought that too. I think it also depends on the country. I thought about using a VPN but I think when you register for a site like they get you anyway. But I am not an expert.
I would find it ridiculous if they prosecute suicidal people for talking about suicidality. I try to follow the rules. But I just need this website.

I am curious what will happen when the US changes section 230. Dems and Republicans (BIden and Trump also) want to change it. I think in the future they will regulate the internet way more. Maybe someday this website is simply gone. It is hard to predict what will happen.
One evening in the media famous suicide forum shut down. I partly see it coming. Though they might do not broadcast it due to the caused attention.

Imagine that after closing this site, there would be sudden spike in suicides.

But I hope I wont see this.

VPN Not necessary.

Is it safe? Depends on your definition. If you're worried about this site being hacked and everyone's username, emails and ip's being released to the public. Then you should use VPN.

The way I see it, if people I know found out that I had used this site and could see everything I wrote. I would lose the SI fear and be able to ctb with no issue because of the embarrassment. So it's still a win for me.

Probably depends on your location and the legality of ctb. But millions of people are looking at way worse things on the internet, so it probably doesn't matter all too much
