988 is practically a terrorist organization
They lure people in at their lowest moments then force them into hospitals and if they don't go they end up beaten, shot or killed
They're also basically a cult
They use this agenda to spread the idea that it's "okay to involuntarily hospitalized people" because it's "for their own good"
They also make people pay for this so called "help" which is actually just abuse

They can call the police who can commit you against your will. It's supposed to be there to help people but it can trap them instead . Haven't heard of people being shot and killed though. Only positive thing is that you could try to ctb that way by holding a knife in your hand. I'd have attempted if I lived there. In Europe they'd likely shoot in your legs to keep you alive

Suicide by cop is pretty feasible, but i wouldn't recommend it in my opinion. Most cops are trained to aim for your chest and torso region. so even if you did die from your gunshot wounds, it wouldnt be instant and it would hurt like hell.

Granted, that doesnt mean that its impossible for then to aim for the head and kill you instantly, but its not a method i would want to try.

ive looked it up in the past and its because that the center of mass is the easiest to hit. limbs like the arms and legs swing and flail around all haphazardly and are much smaller, making it much easier for you to miss and accidentally hit something or someone else.

The whole trope of shooting somebody in the arms or legs to stop them without killing then is just a hollywood thing, aside from them being much harder to hit, if you do manage to hit them in the arm or leg, it is very likely that you end up shooting them in a major artery and they bleed out.

Besides, their main objective is to stop the current threat, not kill it. unless youre absolutely cooked off every kind of meth and heroin you could find, if you get shot in the chest you're going down, and thats all they really need.

You'll either be in pain for a long time before you die, but if they take you to the hospital and you survive you'll just end up in a psych ward to be tortured more so I wouldn't recommend that method
