Hypothetically, I intend to go at home in my own bed/house. How do people think I should make (general) people aware? I live alone and quite feasibily no one would miss me for weeks or more likely months. Obviously, I want things handled properly.

I thought about a note (in waterproof plastic) pinned to my door saying "ring the Police etc..". Anyone any other suggestions?

"Please do not use these email addresses to report a crime, instead dial 101, report it online, or in an emergency dial 999."

This implies they're emails aren't checked that regularly but it seems Hobsons Choice. I wouldn't want to directly involve a neighbour. A bit distressing for them.

I doubt it's not checked, usually these emails are for admnistration purposes. If i was in that situation i would mail explaining the situation in a lot of detail, how and where to find me, to the local police, local fire department and maybe even the local hospital, just anyone that is capable of finding really, i would be a corpse. Better than to be a pile of goo smelling the neighborhood.

It'd have to be the Police (in my Country). The local Hospital contact is all by phone.

I live alone too, I've thought of leaving a note in my mailbox. Asking them to contact police.

Yes, its awkward. I'll probably email the police with a scheduled email. Maybe my GP too. My front door is a good way off the road so would anyone read that anyway - who gets post these days as well. I don't want to put a note through a Neighbours door (as it's upsetting for an unconnected party) and they might read it straight away.

You don't get mail? I meant asking the postal worker to contact police. Good luck whatever you do.

Very little these days. It's increasingly uncommon. I meant that too but there's less and less post delivered in my country.
