• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

My mother knows I'm in a precarious place, and that I've tried to ctb recently (last night). To her credit, while she's very unhappy with the situation and has urged me to seek other paths, she accepts that I'm an adult and free to make my own choice. (Yes, I really did luck out and get a good one.)

Today, in a comment that I can tell was not meant to hit me as hard as it did, she mentioned that I am the glue that holds the family together. The pisser is that she's right. I am. I just hadn't noticed it before. And I really resent that that is the case.

Now I just need to decide what to do with that revelation.

Oh yes; after 49 years I know that. It's just an interesting new perspective.

I liked the old perspective better.

Yep it will only fill the void for so long until you realize all you got is yourself.

Same happened to me last night. At least, you got a more mercyful responce than I did from my parents. As mine are a couple of religious nuts who believe suicide is the biggest sin:meh:. If they were more understanding I would have more respect for them.

I am so very, very sorry. That is one of the elements of my family I am most grateful for: no religion.

I agree with others here. While it can be fulfilling to some people to live for others, ultimately, at the end of the day, all you have is yourself and eventually, your values and interests must be considered and put forth before others.
