Does it scare anybody else that we're on a tiny ball in the middle of essentially infinite space? Spinning endlessly toward who knows what, and when we die, we go who knows where? Maybe to nothing, maybe to something… I'm not looking for debate in the replies about what happens after death. I'm just so terrified by it all.

Whenever I see people be so small-minded and completely preoccupied with worldly things, all I can think about is how nice it must be. What must it be like to not think too hard about anything? To be able to live your simple little life and only care about what's directly in front of you.

I roll my eyes at politics, war, celebrity culture, etc. because I just can't fathom for the life of me how someone could be invested in such stupid things when there's a whole universe out there. We could be putting our heads together and working toward discovering everything we don't know, yet we're killing each other over the stupidest things. I don't follow the news anymore. I couldn't care less. I want to know what's out there, and what comes after we die, and all the things we can't explain…

It really makes you realize that we're nothing more than stupid, dumb, instinct-driven animals at the end of the day. We're a disease on this poor planet, treat her horribly, yet she still takes care of us. At this rate, we're gonna wipe ourselves out long before the sun or a black hole ever gets the chance. Humanity really is its own worst enemy.

It's all just too scary… It's too big. Too much. I want to be someplace quiet and small, easy to understand. You'd think I'd be excited to die so that I wouldn't have to perceive any of this anymore, but no… I'm scared of that too. Why does it all have to be so scary? I just want to cry.

George Carlin said it pretty well about human beings and the earth. We're just a flea on the back of Mother Earth that will be flicked off when the time comes. The Earth has handled much worse than us. It's not concerned about pollution or plastic. There was a time when it had much more powerful creatures on the planet than us and it was also a literal ball of fire and a ball of ice at different points in time.

All I want for you is for the universe to reunite you with your father when you decide it's time. I hope it can do that.

It's calming the vast unknown, to my understanding, is incapable of malice unlike humanity, It just is unforgiving. There is nothing more frightening and dangerous than another human

Knowing we are so insignificant feels calming.. global powers and family wealth taking over while poor/disabled and struggling people have a small chance at survival let alone success is what scares me the most as a person without family or resources. I assume most people on here don't have much materially and experience tremendous amounts of pain. Some push through while others commit to a plan. My wish would be to truly understand what's going on with each person while I'm here because I'm just in so much pain that human connection through a sensitive topic brings very myopic relief

No. My view of life is very pragmatic after considering religion, philosophies, stories, ancient writings and science. The chemical formula of life has already been broken down and completely demystified any concept that is not the fruit of our fantasies, fears, desires, etc. (carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur and phosphorus). Just think that other planets are out there and that in itself shows that nothing was created as one might imagine. Who would create planets scattered around without any purpose? Obviously, Earth would be just another planet except for a few details: distance from the sun, abundant water and the presence of some chemical elements that allowed the emergence of primary life that over a long time and very slowly transformed, evolved, etc. This explains the absurd amount of living beings without the slightest purpose, including microscopic beings. The variety of living beings, some extremely strange and far from what seems like the kittens or dogs that we usually have as companions, also arose without purpose. Our vision is usually limited to what we have around us and it seems to make some sense, but if we start exploring species that we don't usually see, soon the fantasy of creation loses its effect. So, by mere accident this thing began and today, after many phases, years and years, cataclysms, etc. we are here waiting for our turn to die.
