I genuinely don't care if I die. I want to. "You could die" I want to. I'm so depressed. Please let me die.

i dont know how it works exactly, all i know is that certain anesthetics can be harmful if you eat or drink within a certain period of time before taking them.

Once when my family was taking our dog to the vet for somethi!g, they told us she couldnt eat anything the day before or else the anesthetics could kill her

It causes pulmonary aspiration because of the anethesia. Basically stomach contents gets into your lungs. It could infect them or make you stop breathing. They don't want you eating or drinking before because you will have stuff in your stomach and there is a good chance you will die from pulmonary aspiration

You are more likely to permanently damage your lungs from the stomach acid that'll get in your lungs. The death rate is extremely low and the chances of permanent injuries is high.

Yeah, you're right it was wishful thinking :( Everyone acts like you'll die for sure so they urge you not to but really people are just dramatic of the small chance you will

It's more about preventing every possible scenario that can go wrong, the civilized world has a ton of systems designed just to keep people alive (whatever that means) no matter what
