i finally reached my breaking point. i have several times but this time is different.i just lost my job, my car, and the only person who ever loved me for me… well i guess not because i was too much for him, his words. thats exactly what my mother told me as she tried killing herself because my stupid autistic ass is too much. im also about to lose my place of living. i have nothing and nobody, im going to do it probably tomorrow. ill have one of my friends clip it and post it when it happens, i just need a ride to the range but ill figure it out. ill act normal for about half an hour before i turn it on myself.

Staff there is trained to prevent suicide attempts and they watch extra closely for those who don't own weapons or licence.

Suicide at a gun range or while in a hospital is really hard because people are trained to be on the lookout for it and will watch you like a hawk if they even get a teeny vibe you might be at risk. At the gun range, if they weren't on top of things, not just suicides but mass shooters would flock to those places. The fact that you pretty much never hear about it happening is actually a testament to how good those places are ran.

I don't know how the employees are at your gun range and if you can gain their trust or something to get more leeway but when i tried to go ctb at a gun range with no license or my own firearm, they sticked to me like hot glue, within arms reach during all the time i was there, even though they complimented how good of a shot i was and small talked with me they wouldn't budge and stayed there the whole time.

It's hard to get the courage to do it and then if you wanna prevent anyone getting hurt, it's another problem to deal with.

While i was shooting i was thinking of the way i should angle myself so i don't shoot anyone aswell but the incertainty to do it in time before they reach and stop you made me chicken out from it...

I'm assuming that is a sort of gun range natural selection? ;D

Do they close/get fined when someone actually manages to commit?

Not fair to the owners and other patrons.

I am so sorry everything is collapsing like this. You say you use nobody but also mention some friends. I hope they can be helpful in ways other than recording your death.

well friends is an overstatement, its a groupchat of girls where we cut ourselves together and listen to eachothers problems without judgement. they do not care if i live or die. yes i know it will b traumatic to everyone who witnesses it, and i do feel guilty that they will have to live with it, but i can not afford a gun to do it privately so 60 dollars for a sui dont sound bad.

At a gun range won't work because they are trained to stop it full stop. Please Spare op from this "unfair" BS, they literally teach people to kill. It's their job. Also by your logic , no one should CTB , " because it's unfair for anyone" cops, healthcare workers, ambulance drivers, first responders, corners, morticians, family members, where are you going to draw the line? You can't pick one side

Among other things OP was in fact asking for opinions on the idea whether they made that an explicit request or not. I offered mine and with the FULL UNDERSTANDING that they can proceed to do whatever they want.

You're the one with the holey logic imputing all kinds of bullshit to me, suggesting that I of all people insist no one ever fucking kill themselves.

Where should the line be drawn? Consider that the context of my statement was the scenario in which someone blows their fucking head off in very close proximity to observing witnesses. I think placing a hard stop before that is hardly unreasonable and very different from what you're alluding to citing all those different groups of people. That's not saying that suicide should always be off the table because it's "unfair".

People are free to do what they want but that aspect I brought up does not brook being swept under the rug no matter how desperate or miserable we are.

I think the person who wrote that response about "unfair" was talking about the choice to kill yourself at someone else's place causing them trouble.

It's one thing if I kill myself deep in the woods or in my own home. Sure, someone has to find me and deal with it... that's unavoidable no matter how/when you die... BUT if I kill myself at your house or your place of business, I make a problem you have to deal with and be inconvenienced by due to my choice.

This wasn't someone trying to guilt the OP about his choice for suicide... but while killing yourself should be your choice, you don't have the right to impose it on others by killing yourself at their place. I agree that is an unfair thing to do.

They are trained to look for signs and then watch you closely.

I'm assuming you will need to rent one of their guns and not regular client. Assuming those two things are true, they will be watching you.

It's possible they could stop you or in my opinion even worse, disrupt you from properly aiming and you ending up having to live with disfigurement or disabilities. And if they stop you they will obviously call the police who will end up placing you on a 72 hour hold.
