Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Definitely a step in the right direction. I'm not crazy about the 6 month or less terminal requirement. Intractable chronic pain can technically not be "terminal" in the strictest sense, but still makes living a hell on earth. But I agree with itsgone2 - its progress.

While the law is very much the same/similar to the other states and jurisdictions that have legalized the practice, it is indeed a step in the right direction. Hopefully as the years go by, there will be more states that legalize it, perhaps maybe even one jurisdiction loosening up more eligibility criteria; such as instead of requiring a terminal illness with less than six months to live, it would include long term, incurable ailments that severely impact one's quality of life. As much as we hope to have an carte blanche right to die law, it would unfortunately never likely come anytime soon nor in the foreseeable future, but having it expanded would be the next step towards a society that still offers some modicum of dignity, if even for the severely ill (non-terminal).
