I'm going on a meditation retreat in Yosemite National Park for about 4 days, leaving in half an hr. The ambitious goal is to gain better control over my racing thoughts - reduce the frequency of suicidal ideation from 43000X/day to 1020X/day.

During this time, I won't touch any electronic device.

I hope I'll be shocked by your posts upon my return. Remember, I'm not easily offended, only easily bored; so the weirder and randomer the better.

Wish me luck that I won't get abducted by aliens, stricken by lightning, eaten by bears or Bigfoot, find isolated staircases in the woods.

Good luck and don't forget that the main point about meditation is to try to think of as many things as possible at the same time, while stressing out about what is, what has been, and what will be, as well as going over all the mistakes you ever made, in excruciating detail.

Also, it helps if you re-play in your head conflicts you've has on this forum, and generally try to feel as bad as possible about what random strangers on the internet say to you and about you.

If you see a bear, don't run, act tough, or climb up a tree...HOWEVER, if you want to die, (like I do, and probably almost everyone on this site, accept for the occasional think-they-do-gooders and pro-lifers) I suggest you run slowly, trip on a stump, and act really afraid! ...I prefer a more peaceful passing personally, looking at the SN possibly buying a new 38 special/ revolver....being mauled by a bear or a bobcat, not my thing! ;)But to each their own. But I don't think that's meditation, in meditation you release everything, you release your thoughts and give up control, you just watch.
You don't try to fix your problems in meditation.

This sounds like an awesome get away. How is the retreat able to get around Yosemite's closure? Yesterday, I was reading about the wildlife there exploding in activity now that there are no humans around.

I've never seen a bear in Tesco's but I did get thrown out of Sainsbury's once for hanging round in the cooler section. We were excavating a Medieval shop front opposite Sainsbury's in the summer. It was so hot, I used to spend break times in the cooler section chilling out. They got suspicious lol.

I think regular honey would suffice! I'd avoid the knockoff honey, that's basically just sugar cane, no bees involved in the production.... but personally, I never tried this method of death or heard of any other person running slowly thru the woods covered in honey! If it's a not clear it was a suicide, I'd be concerned about winning the Darwin Death Award....:D
