If you say you're gonna kys in 1 year will you still end up imprisoned?

I learned today that a certain crisis text line doesn't allow reporting suicide threats to authorities if the suicide isn't going to be within 2 weeks. Anyone else know more about that?

Depends on the laws enforced in your country.
In my country it is a punishable offence only if there's a proof that u did try to commit suicide. Otherwise you won't be punished just for declaring.

I doubt any service would take it seriously more than few days out, let alone a year.

Most of us can't decide what to have for dinner, let a lone some date in the future to kill ourselves.

That's true, but having a peace of mind for the exact time out would be nice.
