Could you? Sure. Maybe. Your body will shock itself back into place at some point and you'll feel yucky.

Yes, if no one's around, and you swim out to where you can't return. Folks that know how to swim drown because they run out of gas before reaching something solid (assuming water isn't cold).

Any time I have had a friend that is passed out drunk like that, a cup of cold water to the face has always been enough to rouse them.

Some people certainly drown by accident after getting drunk. But no method is a 100% guaranteed to work.

It could work- drowning sounds like s scary way to go, not peaceful, but methods don't always have to be peaceful - if it eliminates decades of suffering then going through some pain to get there can make sense.

I almost drowned once in the ocean. I was 12 and didn't know ow of to swim and a giant wave turned my body upside down and I couldn't reach the surface. No one saw me. It felt peaceful and there was an absolute silence even though there were other people nearby.

Eventually another wave turned me back and that's how I survived. Nobody noticed and I was just here completely shook but also strangely calm.

That's an interesting experience but I do know of a near drowning where a guy said that he was screaming for help and thrashing and panicking and then went under and he somehow get himself above water again and this happened three times before he finally went under and didn't come up and somehow he got rescued in time- I can't remember how he got rescued. This seems pretty typical from other stories I have read of real life near drowning experiences. So those lat few minutes are sheer terror and panicking.
