Hi all, I had planned to CTB last night. I had my campsite all set up and I thought I had everything that I needed to carry it out. The fitting on my flowmeter did not fit on the nitrogen tank. I'm in the US and no welding shops were open yesterday. I made several trips to hardware stores and I couldn't find the proper parts. I thought from my research that all the parts would fit so I didn't pretest the fitting because per Amazon, it would fit. I wasn't going to be able to test it without raising suspicion. I even looked again today and it said no adapter is needed. My heart is broken that I'm still here.
If someone can guide me to what kind of adapter I would need to make this work. I spent the time researching, but apparently I missed something.

I'm in the US and the only thing I could find locally was a 60 ft.³ nitrogen tank. I thought the fittings were standard, because this flow meter said it would attach to the tank.
I circled what on the flowmeter is preventing it from attaching to the tank.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

That stem on the flowmeter shouldn't be stopping anything. That's the portion on the stem that makes the seal in the tank valve. You stick the stem into the valve and then slide the nut up to the tank valve and start screwing it in. I'm not seeing what the issue is.

I couldn't figure it out either. I even sent videos to a friend who tried to help me. Maybe I need to force it in there somewhat. It felt like that bulge stopped it and the female end wasn't deep enough for the threads to start connecting.
I can't go back to the same place. I bought the tank because they thought it was for beer brewing and my regulator doesn't reflect that. There's only one other place in town that sells it—air gas—so my only option is to go there and see if they could help me connect it.

I haven't figured it out yet. I need to leave my house for a little while to try to do that. No privacy here. I have an understanding ally who is also trying to help me figure it out. Everything he is reading says it should fit, too. No shops are open again until Monday that would be able to help at all.
I'm trying to find instructional videos that show how to attach it. When I do try next time, I will record it. Maybe other others out there will see what I'm doing wrong and not make the same mistake.

I have such tears of relief. It attached today. I guess I wasn't meant to CTV yesterday. Now my plan is tomorrow. This is a 60 ft.³ tank since that was all I could get locally. Does anyone think I need to discharge any before I begin?

It's not letting me attach the short video I made, but I would just give everyone the advice to keep reverse tension on the regulator while screwing the valve into the tank.

Here's a picture of it attached. I know I need to tighten it further, but I don't want to damage the threads for tomorrow since I can't leave it attached like this.
That should read CTB.

Do you have a thread with your entire set up
There is somewhere on here underneath another thread. I found this site after coming to a roadblock in my set up. Another member's detailed set up and plan gave me great confidence and the missing pieces to my puzzle.

Here is my simplified version, but I'll try and find the other link. I'm not tech…or mechanically…savvy at all.

I got a nitrogen tank from a local gas supply. I told them my spouse wanted to try doing our own stout like we had in Europe. You'll need pure nitrogen and not beer gas. They might question and advise that pure nitrogen will ruin the beer and it needs co2 for the bubbles. I said we already have a system and we're tying our existing co2 into it. I did consult with a beer brewing supply and he led me to a kegerator website that does just that. I had that as my cover. He didn't question my purchase, he was just was being kind and didn't want me to ruin a good batch of beer.

As for the regulator/flowmeter, I found a YouTube video that shows how to just use this flowmeter and you can adjust for LPM. Someone had already done the math on here for the conversion so I'm following that. It seems to match up with my other research.

I got the tubing and clamp from Lowe's. I wasn't strong enough to tighten down the clamp so the person working there did it. I tried on my own and had to go back, thinking my clamp was defective. He said they are very hard to get started. They kind of questioned what it went to, only because I had to bring in the fitting and hose in to get the right clamp after failing to be able to do it on my own. He used a part in the store to do it for me so I didn't waste $22 for this one use.

I will admit that I played the part of silly wife just running errands for my husband. These are all his projects and I'm just here getting what he asked for. I had to make up something after all my repeated trips. Hopefully this will save you from all of that. If you have the strength and the ability to tighten all of this, you won't have the same hoops to jump through.

I have many chronic illnesses I've been battling my nearly entire half century. My body and mind are tired and this will end not just my suffering, but those closest to me for which I know I'm a burden on. I'm not sure of your why, but I'll keep you in my thoughts.

There is one that I added to.
Post in thread 'Exit bag and inert gas megathread'

I just found this one, too.
shattered serenity is the member that shared his details. I can't find that initial post, but they provided a very detailed set up and story. Detailed list of exact products needed.

I also forgot to add that I am usually an exit bag made from an oven bag. No formal mask. I have two set up and ready to go.
I saved the supply list from the post in my photos.
I didn't buy an oxygen detector and I didn't need the inert gas nut and nipple.
