we need some positivity here i think (especially after that awful turkeytom video) so like what do you love about this site? how has it impacted you?

personally i've vented here numerous times and people are almost always supportive and understanding unlike most places where you get tone policed, dismissed, invalidated, or ignored. especially from people in the chatroom while i was going through some bad moments.

i also love how this place provides so much information, almost in a harm reduction way by saying what methods should be avoided and helping people avoid permsnent disability from bad attempts, and how it gives people information to give them more freedom/control over their own life/fate.

I've also met some really cool people here, alot arent as active now but some are and i see them every now and then.

This site also functions as just a good place to vent in general where people actually get it and so i csn vent eithout bothering/scaring those close to me

Overall this site has positively impacted my life in a number of ways, and while it definitely has its flaws, i love it.

Being able to share my thoughts unfiltered allows me to think.
Nobody belittles each other here.
We're able to ask for opinions and advice without having a slew of bullshit like Reddit.
For me, I'm able to ask for opinions on suicide methods and it helps in a way. Like if it ever gets so bad I can always just kill myself.

Especially a big ONE.
Nobody makes tacit bullshit jokes to make fun of each other and we treat each other seriously.
That one I really appreciate.

I like that people are more real here, and there is no need for us to pretend that our lives are really impressive or keep up appearances out of shame of people thinking we are losers or something. Anyone that I've ever seen on here, who acts like that it just seems strange and out of place. I guess I just like the honesty on here, it's refreshing and you don't see it many other places. You kind of just leave your ego at the door when you come into sasu, which is cool and rare...

Walking on eggshells sucks. Can't talk to a therapist without getting constant "are you in danger of hurting yourself or others" checks. Can't talk to a hotline because they do the same shit and will send the police to your location. Can't talk to family because family won't understand and will also try to get you hospitalized. Can't rant on a lot of the internet because mods will suppress you for expressing suicidal intent.

It's such a lonely feeling. But this site at least rectifies it somewhat.

A little comfort and understanding goes a long way.

Didn't watch it but it's a YouTuber. From what I could tell from what others said he wasn't particularly enthusiastic about SaSu. Guessing he just approached it like everyone in the media does lmao.

Like others have said- it felt like a relatively safe space to be honest about how I truly feel. Each time a video like this drops though, it feels infringed. Like the one place you found safety and comfort is now just like everything else. Something others use to sensationalise and make money from.

For me, ironically it is a major support in helping me to stay alive while I wait for my Dad to go first. I don't think anything will alter my feeling that I want out of this world. But, I don't feel able to go just yet. Every single day is difficult but, this community provides both comfort and distraction whilst I wait. I actually don't know where I'd be without it.

Maybe I'm blinkered but, I just don't see the 'death cult' these people describe. I'd also love to know how they decide who are the 'monsters' here and, who are the 'victims'. Do they want the 'monsters' to just die already and the 'victims' simply be refered to helplines? Do they truly believe that would fix everything?

I don't post very often, but whenever I do, people are always kind, supportive, and non judgemental.

The main thing about this forum for me is that it's well moderated, unlike almost every other forum on the internet, which are typically run by power hungry normies. The result is that people on here are forced to be nicer than normal, which makes it a better community.

its really nice having a community of people who understand exactly what I'm going through. everyone here has been so kind, and have had plenty of good advice. i probably should use this space for venting more, i seem to always fuck things up with my friends when i get into that headspace and this would be a much better place for that.

The anonymity helps a lot. Its good to have a forum where I know I'm not alone with my problems. You can properly vent and have conversations with people without it being drawn back to you irl.

being able to talk about it without fear of being judged or put in hospital. especiallly for moments of doubt i want to talk about it with people who wont get me in trouble just for thinking of it. also getting me away from methods that would have just caused a lot of pain without killing me.

The community and atmosphere is so unique, I feel completely at home here. So much of the internet is difficult for me to feel truly comfortable with because of the levels of irony and insincerity. The lack of censorship and frank, honest discussion is such a rare gem to find.
