I was out driving and decided that I'd buy my gun today. I thought to myself that if I don't buy it soon I'd probably never will. I can easily hide it since the gun folds in half. I'm also getting paranoid since I ordered a substance off the dark web almost two weeks ago and it hasn't gotten here yet so I decided to buy the gun just in case something happens… I'm expected to pick it up tomorrow or the day after. I'm honestly surprised I just did that but relieved at the same time.

What caliber (if your comfortable sharing)?
Most guides usually say shotguns are best, what did you like better about a rifle?
9mm, but I have +p hollow points so it's more powerful than a standard 9mm. I prefer this pistol caliber carbine because I don't want to disfigure my face and head. With a shotgun or a high powered rifle you're essentially destroying your face and head but with a pistol round you're not. Your face and skull will still be in tact and you'll still have a high chance of dying.

How much of an increase of power is there between a 9mm pistol vs rifle? Gun is my choice as well im gonna go with a 44 mag hand cannon behind the ear. Also could you post some pics of the rifle? And may I ask why don't you want your head to be obliterated? The less damage that's done the more risk of failure, but im sure you've thought this through and have your reasons

There is a significant increase in velocity and muzzle energy from using a 9mm rifle instead of a pistol, muzzle velocity will increase by at least 200 fps and muzzle energy will increase by at least 100 ft lbs. I know I will die because the thing that makes suicide by gunshot lethal is that it's a contact shot meaning the gases that follow the bullet get propelled into the brain. That's why caliber doesn't matter as much as shot placement. Even with a 22 you would probably die if you aim right because of the gases that follow it. That's also why even with blackpowder guns you can ctb because of the gases that follow the bullet. Plus I'm going to have a powerful opioid soon I hope so I'm combining both methods.

Interesting I didn't know about the gas expanding into your skull and brain. I just picked an overkill caliber to be safe. 22 is definitely deadly but there's too much wiggle room for my taste

Agreed I think you should use at least a 9mm. But the gases are what make death immediate.

I am jealous of you, in europe we don't have such privileges.

Update: I just got off the phone with the guy, I'm approved but I told him I want the 10mm version instead and he said he's just gonna have to update my paperwork. I'm going to go later today to pick it up. I chose 10mm over 9mm to increase my chances of dying.

Does ammunition have a "shelf life"?
especially if u live in humid weather it's
better to use the newest ammunition u can.

. like everything don't leave in hot or humid weather for too long

I did read that a squib ( failure) is very rare in factory ammunition. 1 in 100,000 is a squib according to some estimates

from ai

Factors that influence failure rates
  • Ammunition type:
Centerfire ammunition is inherently more reliable than rimfire ammunition due to its mechanical design.

  • Quality and brand:
Higher-quality ammunition from reputable manufacturers generally has a lower failure rate.

  • Storage:
Improper storage that exposes ammunition to moisture or extreme temperatures can degrade its components and cause failures over time.

  • Manufacturing defects:
While rare, defects can occur during the manufacturing process, sometimes leading to recalls for specific lots or brands.
What you can do
  • Use quality ammo:
Choose ammunition from reputable manufacturers to minimize potential failures.

  • Inspect your ammo:
Visually inspect ammunition for any signs of damage or corrosion before use.

  • Practice proper storage:
Store ammunition in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

  • Don't bet your life on old ammo:
Even if stored properly, it is good practice to periodically replace ammunition used for self-defense or carry purposes.

  • Be aware of rimfire limitations:
Understand that some bulk rimfire ammunition may have a higher tendency to fail, so it is a good idea to practice with it to identify potential issues before relying on it.
