I think its a very harmful narrative that is very common, people say similar stuff about people who SH. In some situations it can be "for attention" in the way that its a cry for help. I don't think its wrong to want attention, and the idea of an "attention seeker" being viewed as someone who is selfish instead of struggling makes me sad. People who haven't struggled with suicidal thoughts have such a lack of understanding for what its like. Im very sorry you had to deal with someone like that, your issues are very real and legitimate.

I understand what you mean. The only reason I don't tell anyone about my ideation, is because I'm not letting these fuckers stop me when it's time to go. I wish most of the world felt the same. Everyone would rather someone be homeless on the street, eating garbage just to survive for years due to the Disney belief that everyone gets a happy ending surrounded by 3 generations of family on a deathbed, rather than them choosing to ctb due to the harshness of the system.

No, life does not always find a way. It does for many, and it doesn't for many, but people would rather look at those who survived than those who perished. The reality is that while so many "make it" in life, so many people die of homelessness, poverty, wars, diseases, or workplace accidents. Instead of everyone having nuance when it comes to life, so many have rose-tinted glasses. If you want to leave, they'll drug you up, and put you in a psych ward.

What's even more fucked up is that some of the same people will tell you that voluntarily ctb will result in you being tortured in a pit of fire for all eternity. I literally worship demons, and even I think that belief is stupid as hell. What god in their right mind would set up a system where a suffering person would be damned to eternal suffering just because they wanted to escape their mortal suffering?

True that. I realized I wouldn't want kids in this world a while back. Mental issues aside, if what you want to do in life doesn't generate wealth, have fun for the next 40 years doing a job you dislike/tolerate. Workplace politics and mental health issues only add to it.

People probably assume I'm some NEET that never had a job, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I used to regularly put in 60+ hours at a couple of former jobs. The problem was every job just caused massive anxiety and burnout. Constantly thinking about not fucking up so I don't get fired. Butting heads with coworkers. Constant car problems. Having to do 10 things at once within a specific time frame. Man, I just couldn't see myself doing it anymore. One day I just broke for the last time. The money was good. Don't get me wrong. But, one can only distract themselves so much from everything. You can only break so many times.

Goodness, the amount of stuff I've seen coworkers do. I learned the hard way that narcissists, snakes, and manipulators are the ones who succeed in the workforce. You have to know how to lie to get people to like you, and constantly mask if you're not naturally like everyone else. It sucks, but that's how it works. It's like a pack of starving German Shepards, but they all hide their hunger and thirst for blood while smiling at you, lol.

Didn't see your edit. All I can say is that some people make it work for 40 years. I don't know how, but they do. I fully admit I'm not the person anyone should look to when it comes to advice on how not to be miserable at work. I tried to tough it out and pull myself up by my bootstraps. Guess I didn't have what it takes.

I think it's very personal to share about it while revealing your identity unless it's someone you trust and they can't use it against you when it's not necessary. If it's not handled right it can push someone to CTB sooner. Doing anything under pressure is not cool and whether they want to cause harm or not in some countries they can be legally responsible for that if proven.
I couldn't care less if someone found out about me. No one will 'stop' me because no one will watch me forever. I think I will have to CTB one day anyway.
