Method How viable is a knife method?

Say I wanted to CTB right now. I have a switchblade in a drawer I can reach. Say a family argument turns sour and I get kicked out of the house. Or something happens to my dog and she dies early on. And I'm ready to go. I have the switchblade, as well as bigger knives I can use in the kitchen if need be. Is there a place I can cut that will kill me quickly? Maybe preferably knocking me out before bleeding out to death.

You would HAVE TO go for your neck, and it takes ages to get through, I was on an ED forum for a while that had a section for self harm, I was given play by play images of a girl slitting her throat, took hours and if you have never cut deeper that beans you would not be successful.

Lack of access to more viable methods at the moment. Never know when the opportunity to CTB will come. I've planned to do it after my dog dies, whenever that happens. But life can throw curve balls and cut things drastically short. I'd like to be ready when the time comes to go.

A lot of people will tell you that using a knife is ineffective. But I've done the research, if you know the right spots to target. It's basically unsurvivable and you lose consciousness quickly. You can't hesitate at all though so you have to be fully committed to ending it despite the pain.

For example, I'm going for the left ventricle of the heart with a long chef knife, fast unconsciousness. Help won't be able to arrive fast enough to save me, my door will also be barricaded if I do it inside. And by the time anyone finds me in the first place, I'll be long dead already.

You need to hit an artery which takes either a large knife and a large, deep cut or some knowledge of anatomy. Arteries are deeper under the skin and can be difficult to find and cut sufficiently. This also means a huge battle with your own survival instinct as you will have to cause significant pain and damage to yourself to get the job done. There are also quite a few risks of permanent muscle and/or nerve damage if you live.

Not trying to dissuade you from attempting, just want you to know what you are getting into. I hope your situation improves and it will not come to this for you.

Suicide by severing an artery is like one of the worst ways to go out
It's incredibly difficult to accomplish on top of that your body more than likely will not be able to handle the pain even if you are a person who self harms
I've seen people who have slit their throats and arms- they are the exceptions not the majority

But if you're committed to this method, I would recommend doing a lot of research and learning anatomy

One last thing: when you do, make sure to use a sharp knife, and make a long, wide cut just under the chin. Using drugs helps with pain.
I still don't want you to cut yourself to death, but if you do, I want it to be humane, at least

Either you build a guillotine, or you can't. Self decapitation via knife isn't recorded, and it's not difficult to wonder why. How can you have the strength to cut into your own neck (muscles, tendons, spine) while you're in extreme pain and bleeding. Instinct kicks in the moment you start cutting into the flesh and momentum isn't enough to cut your entire neck. It is possible to reach the carotid tho.
