I was 12 when I came to know depression and knowing I didn't belong in this world. I always looked for love and connection with my family, particularly with my parents. But I never found it. My parents never knew how to show closeness and intimacy. As the years went by, the distance between the unconditional love which I truly am, and the darkness of my home life, widened. In an effort to survive, I grew farther from my true self, not closer. My depression and subsequent suicidal ideation, became my life, and is still with me today.

I've been to many therapists - psychologists, psychiatrists, hypnotists, "healers" - and the original pain of separateness has never left me.

I'm constantly looking for my way back home. The only thought that gives me relief, is that of suicide. I can't imagine leaving this insane world any other way.

I believe I was 4, maybe - I was eating a banana, gained consciousness around halfway through. I noticed the texture of the thing in my mouth, got really disgusted, and gave the rest of it to my dad. I still hate bananas.

We call it the "fox is getting married to wolf's wife" directly translated, and I honestly cannot remember. I know my dad was still alive cause he's the one who told me about it, so I'm guessing about 11 oldest. Btw I also hate bananas, but I can eat them if still hard, and a bit green if I really have to.

Maybe around 10 or under. My parents must've rented the DVD for A Tale of Two Sisters since we were all sitting on the couch and watching it on the TV.

I can't remember all the details but it was a little traumatizing since I've never been good with horror. The soundtrack was amazing though and haunting to this day.

If we're excluding fictional characters, crushes, and life-lasting limerence, then maybe when I was around 19 or 20 years old. We became friends through an online game (and online forum based on the game). I did like one other person a couple years prior to our meeting, but the feelings weren't as intense so I consider her the first person I really fell for.

It was really bizarre how seen I felt when talking with her. But in no way did I deserve her friendship nor time of day so I always think that she would have been happier during the years we knew each other if we hadn't met.

I went through a period of watching countless YouTube videos, trying to learn how to whistle. The best I've ever managed is tuneless spittle. I can't even make a single note. I also can't do the thing where you blow over a glass bottle like a beer bottle to make a note.

How old were you when you realized that the exciting prospect of staying awake all night actually wasn't all it's cracked up to be?

Never. I suffer from a sleep disorder. To this day, I mostly sleep in the daytime.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make light of a situation like yours. It was intended to be a jab at my younger self, who thought that staying awake all night playing games was the most exciting thing anyone could think of, when now I know that staying awake all night means I can't escape my thoughts for even a moment. I'm sorry if my question seemed flippant; I didn't intend to trivialize your experience.

How old were you when you got punched in the face for the first time?

Thankfully I've never been punched in the face, as I have what most would consider a ridiculously low tolerance for pain. I wouldn't cope.
