Generally depends on each individual it can be as low a the 3rd floor but in this height you can also survive or as high as you want. Although it is said that the lower you jump the more likelihood that you will feel pain upon impact. On the other hand if you jump from a very tall place it is said that the impact damage is so fatal that your brain doesn't register the pain of the impact damage. If possible it's better to find a body of water and jump for me that's less scary.

If you fell on your head somehow any height would likely be fatal

I think the consensus is 10 stories but im not sure. I've heard of people dying from jumping off the top of parking garages and those are not that high up

I've read somewhere here that 48-58 meters fall into hard surface has 97-99% mortality rate, CMIIW.

40m i think is enough but i jumped from 15m and was about to die due to internal blood loss if nobody helped me in 10-15 min i would not be here unfortunately a paramedic and an ambulance were chilling around the corner so i got help within a minute of hitting the floor yeah...

There was a girl here who jumped from 8 stories and survived with horrific pain. She just recently passed using SN because of it. Be careful with jumping.

The thing that keeps me from jumping is a story once read from a survivor. He told that right after he jumped his thoughts were: 'What am I doing? I don't want to do this!'. This during the way down. Sounds horrible to me.

i had a rough 3 weeks really wanted to kill myself in that period so one day i couldn't sleep and then my brain switched and it was like all my organism like my brain, nervous system etc unanimous agreed to die so SI got shut down, i had no fear no doubs in my way to jumping and in the fall in that instant i felt a big relief, it def was something unique because with the major injuries i sustained i am worse than before but that state of mind hasn't appeared again

Rule of thumb is 150ft/46m onto concrete or 250ft/75m onto water for 99% lethality.

But jumping is difficult to predict. People die falling of a step stool at home and survive falling out of a plane. There are lots of factors like landing position, age, and body composition.

My son died by jumping from a building. I've repeatedly thought about what his last few seconds were like (last hours and says as well). I've since read the story of Kevin Hines. He jumped and survived the Golden Gate Bridge by a miracle and describes it. Maybe it was him?

Golden Gate Bridge sounds very familiar. I think it was indeed Kevin's story that I read. Sorry to hear about your son.
