Extremely liberating. Imma be dead, what difference would it make? It reminds me of Ikiru, a movie where an old man, after being diagnosed with cancer and confronting his mortality, builds a park for the children in his last days. After his death, men debate over his intentions, state of mind and all. The message is: even if your name and deeds were to be remembered throughout the centuries, would people really remember YOU, or just the image they'd make of you?

It doesn't really bother me. It's just the natural way of things. It bothers me more that people who I've known and loved will all be forgotten soon. They were worth remembering but ultimately, it's not really like it brings anyone back.

I'm more pleased that I didn't leave offspring to mourn me though. I've spent most of my life mourning my Mum- she died when I was 3. I'm glad I'm not burdening my would-be child with that pain. It seems better that the fewer people I am close to, the better now. It's surely better for them if they can forget me quickly.

I don't really care. I mean if you think about what'll happen thousands/ millions of years in the future, unless we manage to master space travel and can get out of this solar system eventually we'll all be forgotten once the sun swallows up the earth and all the planets close to us. Then everyone will be forgotten.

Even not thinking that far ahead, in a few generations everyone will forget people who are famous now, so we're all forgotten eventually. I mean really think about it, how many actors from the 70s, 50s, 20s do you remember? Assuming you didn't grow up around that time. The first movie was made in 1878 according to google. Do you think anyone remembers actors from the 1800s?

Eventually culture changes and all the people who cared about you will die and their kids or grandkids will stop caring too. Even history books aren't safe. I can guarantee you there are people in history books or really old scrolls that next to no one knows because only history nerds read the books they're mentioned in. We're all forgotten eventually, some sooner than others.

what will matter in 500 years? a 1000 years? a million years? a trillion years? nothing.

nothing could ever matter to me 1 micro-second after my brain / me dies because i won't exist ever again.

only my brain that's "me" creates any thinking desires worry needs FOM suffering pain, and that's the problem that the brain can create unending constant unbearable pain.

the only things that matter to me are me avoiding unbearable pain and suffering and my suicide asap.

plus a human is just cells, chemical reactions , an animal, a machine, making the statement "nothing matters" even more true.

a human can think of only one thing at a time.

The cells in a mouse monkey fly cricket and me are basically identical, even a brain cell In a fly is the same as in my brain. So I'm just a bug . It's a fiction perpetrated into us that we should gave a legacy. What kind of legacy does that fly that just died in the sidewalk have am I different? No.

To that fly or a mouse it ses the universe in its brain from it's perspective just like I do there is no difference. If that mouse or I get a painful parasite in our intestines that pain will be in our attention but no one else will care

no one remembers anything or knows the true nature of anything just a low resolution model. For example if I mention Charles Darwin . Who knows who he really was? Just some blurb the guy who wrote theory of evolution

The vast majority of people who had lived has been long time forgotten, for example i don't know who my great great great grandfather is, you could still be remembered in 100 years if you had a family of your own and lived enough to have your grandchildren to know you but 200 only if you leaved a legacy, so no i don't care if im forgotten

barely anyone knows the names nor faces of their great grandparents.
their grandparents, of course...
but great grandparents, not so much.

so yeah, unless you're extremely famous or a historical figure, no one will have a clue who you are in 100 years. (most likely, and generally)

to me, i'm kinda cool with it. it's a bit of a cold topic, but as long as we love and enjoy the people around us while we are still here, then that's good.

It doesn't concern me at all. I have never sought fame while alive, so why should I care if I'm forgotten 100 years after I have gone?
In fact, there will be a lasting reminder of me. Some years ago I published a book on the scientific work I have been doing, and a second book will be published soon. If we still have a functioning civilisationn 100 years from now, a few people will refer to those books occasioally.

I don't really care at all. To me the effect I have on people in this present moment is enough for me than anything in the future. Just cus I am forgotten doesn't mean my actions now don't have any meaning to the people in this moment right now. Anyways I am not going to feel lesser from being forgotten about after my death as I no longer be able to care about it at all as I can't feel anything in non-existence.
