How do you know if someone passed on from this forum?

Do you have a personal relationship outside this forum? Im just curious how much is all talk on here...

And you never know when someone CTBs, unless you have some close contact with someone, no one really knows when anyone CTBs. However most of the time the users who are banned have most likely CTBed so they either self ban or the mods ban. The other people that get banned can be by breaking the rules. Users also post goodbye threads and when they say when they are going to CTB, so if we don't hear from them for a while then we can only assume they successfully committed suicide. But that's my theory :)

To add to what HorribleFeelings1 mentioned. I think posting Good Bye threads can also get you banned by the Mods.

This is a post detailing only SN attempts no other methods. I also believe that some have ctbd that have not been banned so the name is still active. You can search specific methods and follow threads. But no way of TRULY knowing anything. I think most here think about it but thinking and doing are vastly different. go to page 5 or 6 for the full updated list as of that date.

All we can do here is speculate and infer. There's a somber feeling when you see a name struck out. It would feel too voyeuristic to know the details or the truth.

From time to time, there are cases where somebody is able to locate an obituary online, or see a news story, etc.
So those would be "confirmed" / "verified" cases.
e.g. you might know the town where somebody resides, and you might look at the local news for that location, or look for obituaries for that location.
