I don't know since my veins are so deep and I failed at hanging before. I decided that if I ever get to the point were I will hang again, I'm going full suspension / drop hanging.

Same thing - although I have thin neck, the carotid seems to be very subtle down there.
Maybe you should experiment with cushions under your left side?
