• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I'm just wondering how active any of us are in 'right to die' activism.

I can't say I am much. I'll sign the odd petition that comes along. I decided to be reasonably honest with the police that did my (IC SN) welfare check. I felt I had no reason to lie and could make a justified and reasonable argument. I suppose it just about worked because they did leave me with my SN- eventually.

In courses of conversation, I would probably be reasonably honest about how I felt. So, I don't go out of my way to fight for it but, I don't entirely hide how I feel either.

I think there's a risk to being honest though because, it's likely not so many leaps between advocating assisted suicide and being suspected of wanting it yourself.

How about you? Are you fearlessly speaking your mind and pushing for change or, are you trying to live under the radar?

The most outspoken I've been in public was reading an extremely moderate book by theologians about dying with dignity. But I'll sign petitions and openly discuss it with people I think I can be friendly with if the situation arises. Other than that I try to be discreet as I'm not much of a leader or risk taker.

I do what I can, sign petitions, show support on line, post about it, read, watch shows and videos, tell others Unfortunately I never knew about it until I got so ill in such unbearable pain that I found it in looking to end my suffering. If I knew I would have prepared when I was able. I wish I could have had a guide but we lost the well known advocates. I don't know how to find the help I need. I'm in brutal pain waiting for MAiD to start in NY and trying to get doctors, forms, visits in this condition is grueling to think of. Someone else decides if I have to keep suffering or not. I'm in so much pain there's not a word strong enough to describe it. Every second I'm desperate for the pain to stop, for sleep, eternal rest, peace. We can show our pets compassion and not let them suffer. Why is there no compassion, mercy, relief for me? We all deserve to say I've suffered enough, nothing can help, I've done it all, let me go gently. Where are the ones who weren't afraid to have compassion and help the suffering? I'm not asking anyone to risk anything for me. There are those who know how to do it and they do it not just for others but how rewarding it feels to take away someone's pain. I always appreciated the feeling I got helping and showing kindness to others. It's a great exchange of positive energy and peace for me when I was able to do things as small as making someone smile, laugh, saying kind words to cleaning, feeding, giving blood, providing food, clothes, a ride to the doctor. I thought good karma brings good karma, not in having to ask people for help. I always enjoy giving and don't want to ask. But I guess I thought it keeps bad things away. We all deserve death with dignity. The right to not suffer. More states are seeing it but it should be quicker and for more than terminal with less than 6 months.
