Hi all,

I am trying to use the partial suspension hanging method with a neck tie and keep on failing. The tie is a little over a metre long so not enough for a slipknot. I have tried securing it to a coat hanger on the back of my door and a banister post on my landing, both to no avail. The most effect I have experienced is rushing blood to my head. But I have not yet experienced any dizziness or blackout from my attempts. Any advice? I don't have access to anything but the necktie atm.

Maybe the positioning of the tie isn't compressing your carotid arteries, which I think is what has to happen in order to blackout? I've read that people say a significant weight needs to exert force on the ligature all at once, which I think is tricky in this method, perhaps.
