I graduated with a degree in math and minor in comp sci only to realize I can't stand desk jobs. I'm going insane and fantasize about CTBing all day. I hate that I'm forced to sit in an office for 8 hours a day even though I'm only productive for half of those hours. I just want to be free.

I strongly feel my personality is not aligned with my college major. As a kid, I loved drawing and going to the beach. I wanted to be a marine biologist. Now I am miserable. I can't live the rest of my life like this.

I know this forum mainly talks about suicide methods, but does anyone work a job they don't hate? I'm not great with people and often feel like I'm a magnet for workplace bullies, so please keep that in mind.

I wish I could find a job that fits my degree. I went to law school and was kicked out for a manic episode. Now just rot in bed waiting to CTB.

Honestly look at like a law enforcement role. They heavily prioritize folks with analytic minds. It would get you out of a desk job especially if you got into like Postal Inspection or crime lab space.

I think remote work is worth trying. I don't know how well it would work for you, but you'd have more freedom with yourself that way.

Hey, I'm honestly in a similar boat, though I haven't finished my degree yet. If you are still interested in marine biology you can probably get into that with your math degree, I know that at least in ecology having a good math background can be extremely valuable to employers. I have worked in ecology for the past three summers, and I have a love-hate relationship to it, but ultimately I do really enjoy it and I get to spend my summers outside doing something that feels somewhat meaningful. It has by no means gotten rid of my suicidal thoughts, but it has improved my life in many ways, so if you want to chat about it shoot me a message

I also have a math/comp sci degree and work as a programmer in office.

But I would rather be a biologist or a forest ranger

often feel like I'm a magnet for workplace bullie
Are there really bullies at your workplace? What do they do?
