Lately I've been making an effort to take all of my medication (as recommended). For the past couple of days I've been consistent. Right now, I take sertraline (200mg), quetiapine (200mg), hydroxyzine (50mg), and prazosin (2mg). However, I can't stop having suicidal thoughts.

I don't know if this is the result of me thinking clearly or not because I feel calm. I don't feel sad. I'm not acting erratic. If I reached the conclusion of death on a calm, medicated state of mind, is it correct?

Medication won't cancel out suicidal thoughts. Looking at your list of medication, I can see why you are calm. I don't think it's something to worry about.
Have you tried therapy alongside mediaction?

Certain antidepressants can cause suicidal thoughts. One of the meds I'm on (fluoxetine) has this effect, and oh boy it's been a wild ride. The psychiatrist said it should calm after my body adjusts, but yeah, that's not ideal as someone who is actively suicidal.

Why r u suicidal? R u suicidal with and without meds? What causes your suicidal ideation? Are meds a cure for that?

Meds can't cure suicidality if they can't cure the underlying circumstances that are making you suicidal.

I moved states a couple of months ago, so I need to find a new therapist and psychiatrist because of state lines. But I can't do that right now because I have to set up my health insurance again because of state lines. However, a couple of months before moving, I received a 100% disability rating from the VA and I don't know if I should set up my health insurance with UnitedHealthCare like before or the VA. It's a mess.

It's hard to say. A lot of things make me feel suicidal. It hasn't been 'til recently that I started feeling suicidal while on my medication. I'd say my medication stops me from crying all day more than anything else.

I'm not from the states so sadly I cannot help you in any way. I hope you can do some research online on what to choose and also that you will find a great therapist. Take care of yourself loves, you can do it

How long you been taking them? I heard in the beginning, it's a common side effect

Of course it will vary for each person. But if you've been taking them for over a few months, then I guess it's just your natural and genuine reaction to life as well

They aren't meant to cure it completely. Because if life is shit, then life is still shit, whether you pop pills or not. There is a limit how much it can be numbed

I've been taking them for a couple of months, but it's on and off. I guess I'm hurting myself by not being consistent. Actually, I stopped taking them today after taking them for...3 days straight? I just didn't feel like doing it anymore.

I've taken antideprssants on and off for over 15 years. Usually 2 years or so at a time, then quit for a while, then go back on them again

You do need to be consistent. If once in a while, you skip a day here and there that's fine, as sometimes people naturally forget to take it

But in general, need to be consistent. For example, when I took them for 2 years, maybe out of a regular 30 day month, I may only miss 1 day or so, sometimes 2 days, but rare

Try doing it consistent daily for a while, and see if notice a difference. Of course, it's not a complete cure. So have realistic expectations
