I'm not sure if I just came in at a bad time, but it seems like there are a few strange people here. It doesn't even feel like some of them are really here to talk about suicide.

Anyway have you made any friends here? How? I was just genuinely curious.

A few. All online only, but I've had good chats with ppl here.
I guess depends on how long you plan on staying around for.
And what you call "friends". Even if you like someone a lot, or chatting with them, if you chat, say, once a month, would you consider that a friend?

Also I guess there is only so much suicide talk you can do before you start repeating yourself and it gets... repetitive? Esp if you plan on ctb, but not immediately.

A lot of people just look for someone to understand their pain and be heard and to connect.

Just kidding.There are a lot of different viewpoints on this site. Some people have extreme opinions on certain things, but they are suffering too most likely.

Yeah, it's not surprising. People here cope with addictions. Alcohol, drugs, self harm, sex.
Some are looking for intimacy or are just lonely.

But I don't really think there's much harm in any of it, as long as you know they're not trying to lure you somewhere or whatever. And if you don't like that talk, you can always let them know.

I've tried to make friends on here and it's been complicated. I'm still hoping I can but it's been hard to find the right fit and I guess I can be difficult to get along with sometimes. I'm in a very dark space and very disabled and have trouble connecting well even with folks going through similar things I guess.

Depends on what people mean by friendships. I would say I've made a few strong acquaintanceships but that's about it.

Think many people here have acquaintances and casual friendships, but the number making strong friendships are in the minority.

Tough to do that online, and especially on a site like this where most people are just looking to vent and talk about their problems.

A lot of conversations I've had have felt like two people monologuing at each other.

And then there's the whole trust aspect. Never know who the other person is or what their intention is.

No, I haven't. I'm pretty volatile as a person and while I wouldn't be like that with other people , I still don't want to burden them, it's also the fact that there are a lot of differences between us people and it's not that I wouldn't be able to be friends with different people it's just that I have no energy in me anymore for that.

I didn't come here looking for friends. But I like everyone here, even the weird ones, whatever that means - I'm not even sure anymore.
