Going under the anesthesia is like death. Blissful death as your mind sails off and seemingly never comes back, but you don't feel bad or scared or anything really. I want anesthesia again.

I've been under anesthesia for surgery once.
I don't think I had an exact moment where I woke up, it was like a slow transition from dreaming to awake.
After that I felt great, almost blissful and incredibly relaxed.
Even opening my eyes was impossible at first because my eyelids felt so heavy, let alone moving my limbs.
That went away slowly.
I was almost sad that the feeling went away, it was so nice.

I've had three surgeries where I had to be put under anesthesia. The first one was to remove the thing that connects my tongue to the bottom of my mouth. I forgot exactly why I had to remove that but at least I can roll my r's pretty well. The second one was to remove my wisdom teeth. The third surgery I had was to fix my deviated septum which even though it's been fixed, it still feels like my breathing is fairly irregular. In each of these cases, anesthesia didn't feel like dying or anything close to that for me since from what I was experiencing, it felt like I woke up instantly after only with something missing.

Yes, I had a surgery a few years ago. Nothing complicated! I was already passively suicidal but I hoped that I could be the lucky one that doesn't wake up again - although it's pretty much impossible to happen.

I remember my mom asking me whether I was worried about the surgery and anesthesia - I said NO but my thoughts were about - hopefully, I don't wake up again.

Sleeping feels more like what I imagine dying just feel like but maybe that's because the transition from unconscious to conscious isn't as smooth when waking up normally than waking up from anesthesia…

yes. it's pretty strange, it feels almost like fast-travel in videogames. i remember filling in the blanks in my mind with a cut-away to black, though i don't remember the process of falling asleep at all.

I'm getting my first surgery in a few days - I'll get general anesthesia. Praying I never wake up again even though I know it's a pipe dream.

Yes. It was weird. Like a tingling sensation in my head and then nothing till I woke up.

I've had a lot of surgeries so I can't remember how many. I love the feeling anesthesia gives me, though I get nauseous when I wake up from it

Yeah l went under three times it's instant blackout and then you wake up with hungover lol.

Yeah it just feels like pressure in the head then you wake up not knowing what happened and then you just feel intense pain well that's what it was like for me

I had to get my nose cauterized. I really wish dying was as simple as that was, just taking a couple of deep breaths and then nothingness. I woke up later feeling strangely energized and it felt like no time had passed at all. That's what I imagine an eternity would feel like, barely any time passing.

I've never had surgery, but I've been in a medically induced coma, and I've had ECT. The anaesthetic and sedatives to me were like going to sleep and then waking up like nothing ever happened. Dreamless, thoughtless, no sense of whether you exist or not. It's nice. I've also died before and had CPR, it was the same experience. You are not aware to know you exist. I find peace in the concept of oblivion after death.

Yes, twice in my life I have had an operation with general anaesthic. You fade away painlessly, and for a while you don't exist.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I really hope that death isn't like being under anasthesthia and the fact that it might be is part of why my previous attempts have been lowkey half-assed.I want to be conscious on some level, if it's just being aware of an eternal darkness
